Extension for 3 month Type O visa.

Featured Replies

Good afternoon,

I have a 3 month typeO visa based on child dependent, which runs out first week of July.

I work in Middle East and supposed to resume work after Ramadam.

I went to Samat Prakan Immigration office today to see if i could get a 30 day extension.

This is knowing the people in my office are rather lax during Ramadam.

Immigration told me i could only get 7 days extension here.

They informed me to go to Poi Pet to do a land crossing and obtain a 30 visa exempt stamp.

As i don't have my flight yet booked to return to work, i don't know if this is a good idea.

Work issued me a return ticket which expired 30th May.

Perhaps a flight down to KL and back would be easier for me.

Looking forward to your recommendations.

There is no 30 day extension for a non immigrant visa entry.

If you child is Thai you can apply for a 60 day extension to visit them.

You could do a out/in border crossing to get a 30 day visa exempt entry. Certainly easier to fly out and back to get one.

Hi Joe,

              My child is Thai.

Immigration did not mention 60 day extension at all.

No application forms for this at Samart Prakan.

They asked if i had 800K Baht in bank, i said no, not here.

They said border run.

Is there a 60 day extension application on line somewhere?

May save me a trip out.

This is a back stop in case there are delays on my work.

All extensions are applied for using a TM7 form ( Fillable TM7 form.pdf  download, complete and print 2 sided). The fee will be 1900 baht.

Your child will need to be with you when you apply for the 60 day extension. You will need their birth certificate plus a copy and a copy of their house book registry.

You will also need proof of residence such as a rental agreement.

Hi Joe,

              thanks for the info.

I have all that paperwork except for rent book.

I stay at the house that myself and ex-wife (gf} bought.

We are only divorced because of a mortgage she has on a condo in BKK.

This is near my sons school and make life easier for him.

If your child is registered in the house book for where you are living that is all you will need. Just copies of page 1 and the page they are registered on.
If not then a statement from your ex wife that you are living in her house with signed copies of the house book and her ID card attached.

Hi Joe,

i went to Samat Prakan Immigration office this morning to apply for the above 60 day extension.

All went well and approved within an hour.

Staff all helpful and friendly.

However, i did get fined THB 1,000 for no TM30.

I have never done one of these before in 22 years, but now registered.
