KORAT: -- The head of the police in Nakorn Ratchasima has said that reports that his force were planning to abandon the use of CCTV and radar guns to trap speeding drivers are not correct.

A leaked memo found its way online but chief Suphakorn Khamsingnork said that was an internal memo and the actual original directive was not attached.

He said this has led to confusion.

In reality the measure is just a temporary one to conduct maintenance and adjustment of procedures.

Many different stations and authorities are involved in monitoring the Friendship Highway and the temporary shutdown will help the police coordinate their operations better, said the chief.

Well . . . Now you know that these things need maintenance. No point having radar guns and cctv units that don't work is there? Thailand is so good with maintenance after all.

Yes if it is not broken, don't touch it .  its called preventive maintenance goes for Brakes on trucks and buses  too
