10.000 baht bounty set for antique shop sign thief

KALASIN — A shop owner in the northeastern province of Kalasin on Tuesday announced a reward of 10,000 baht for the arrest of a man who stole her century-old shop sign.

 

The sign, which hung over the grocery store called Lao Sun Kee, was stolen in the early hours of Sunday. Store owner Jiraporn Laopongpitch said she suspects the thief was part of the a gang that preys on antique shop signs, such as the one she inherited from her grandfather.
