rooster59
Blaze at cotton thread factory in Samut Prakan By The Nation A fire broke out at a cotton thread factory in Samut Prakan’s Phra Samut Chedi district in the early hours of Saturday, police said. Pol Captain Issara Saengsawang, deputy inspector of Phra Samut Chedi Police Station, said the fire broke out at the U-sup Cotton Co Ltd in Tambon Klong Bang Plakod at 1.30am. Issara said the fire started at the power cables at the front of the factory and quickly spread through the factory building because it had a lot of raw cotton and cotton threads inside. Five fire engines took over one hour to control the blaze, which damaged six machines. Nobody was injured as the factory was closed at that time. An assistant village headman, who lives nearby, told police that he heard an explosion at 1.30am, came out, and saw the fire in the factory. He alerted the local fire station.
