I am coming to Thailand on a 30 day tourist entry.

Then leaving to go to Vietnam.

Then back to Bangkok.

Do i need to get a re entry permit.

I assume you will be getting a 30 day visa exempt entry.

There is no need to get a re-entry permit since you will get another one when you return from your trip.

As long as both entries or at least one of them are by air - remember you are only allowed to enter twice in any calendar year via land.
