Hello all,

 

Does anyone know is it possible to change non-o visa to non-b visa for an Indian national without leaving the country?

 

I already have tried twice by going to VFS NewDelhi, but instead of giving me visa, they put void stamps on my passport .I was unable to provide the documents asked by them because the OHEC ( Higher Education Commission) in Thailand said that such paper doesn't exists.BTW I applied for NON-B ( Teaching ) visa.

On what basis would you be getting the non-o visa.

Do you actually have a job offer and has your prospective employer provided all the documentation needed to apply for the visa? 

 

FYI 

VFS are not placing stamps in your passport the Thai Embassy is.  The reason they place a visa + a voided stamp in your passport is to avoid any allegations of impropriety. 

 

Yeah, I have been living in the country from the last 4 Years on Non-O visa which is a dependent visa by my spouse and now I started working, so I need to change my visa. My Institution provided me all the documents listed on the VFS website, but apart from that the Thai Embassy in New Delhi is asking for more and more papers every time and this time my institution said that they cannot provide the paper asked from the embassy because OHEC said, such paper doesn't exist.

 

I don't wanna leave the country again as it is quite  expensive to go to India for visa and coming back empty hands.So I wanna try to get visa from here in Thailand.

 

Is it possible to change visa without leaving the country?

You can work and get a work permit with a non-o visa or extension of stay  based upon marriage.

You should be to apply for an extension of stay based upon working as teacher with a 90 day entry from a non-o visa.

I looked on VFS for New Deli's website and did not find a list of required documents for a non-b for teaching.

Yeah I knw that I can get work permit on non- o as well, but the problem is that my husband wants to quit his job, so in that case I think I need to get Non-B visa, so that we can stay in Thailand.

 

Yeah, I gave all the documents listed on the VFS website( it is under the non-b(employment) to them but then also they were asking for additional documents, which I was unable to provide. I tried twice, everytime they asked for different papers

Sorry I misread your post and thought you were married to a Thai.

According to the written rules you should be apply for a work permit and then the extension with a non-o visa.

You could get a tourist visa and do a change of visa status to get a non immigrant visa (category B ) at immigration. See this list of requirements change visa to non-b teaching docs.pdf

I got my non-o because of my husband .He has non-b visa .but now I got a job offer and want to change my visa.
