Italian Visa for mother in law. I am a current Soggiorno Holder

Recommended Posts

Hello,

I live and work in Italy and have an Italian Soggiorno for myself, my wife and my children. My wife is Thai and my mother and law would like to come visit us (she is thai).

Does anyone have a process for doing this? My wife is saying it is easier to hire an agency to do it for us, but I would like to try to do it on my own if possible

Thanks

A helpful start would be the Schengen sticky topic in this forum. It's not rocket science.

What's your nationality? If you are an EU/ERA national your mother in law could be eligible for the accelerated procedure (she would be a family member of EU national) if she is dependant on you for a living.

Hi  drkwtsn: doing by yourself is not so complicated. But inside the embassy there are some agent that works with the embassy and they can help you with the process, even without go to the Embassy: they cost is around 20.000 for their service.

Doing alone there are few simple documents you need to provide: the most important will be the insurance for her.

It also depends from which country you are
