Authorities destroyed nearly 1,000 boxes of counterfeit beer yesterday following earlier raids sparked by a complaint filed by the sole distributor of the brand name beer. Attwood Import Export Company holds the sole rights to import and distribute Budweiser and Corona beers in the country.

 

The company filed a complaint to the Interior Ministry’s Anti-Economic Crime Department earlier this month, leading to police raids on two locations in Phnom Penh and one in Preah Sihanouk province. Long Sreng, deputy chief of the department, said 915 boxes of beer were destroyed at dumpsite located in Dangkoa district’s Chhoeung Ek commune, including 200 boxes of Corona.

 

“Those beers violated copyrights,” he said. “The beer we destroyed was imported from an unspecific manufacturer in China.” “We didn’t arrest anyone because the plaintiff only requested compensation,” Mr Sreng added.

China. This the most dangerous countries to the rest of the world. It's a shame that current economic dogma requires said rest of the world to suck up to them. Just imagine what's in that 'beer'. Baby formula that kills. Drug smuggling. Plenty of ice coming from there. Claiming rights to the China sea and more. Building islands for military bases etc, etc, etc. I could write a book on this. This is the most dangerous country on Earth.
