    The information on this forum is according to the written rules. Not what a lawyer was able to arrange.

    The is no rule that says it can only be in Bangkok Bank. That apparently is where your lawyer had contacts at.

    It's not a secret, anyway.  As long as you are over 50, you can buy your way around the rules - been that way forever.  Many probably support their stay by teaching English illegally.

    But if under 50, you may get denied entry even if you follow the rules to the letter, with all the travel, effort, and expense that entails.  Go figure.

    The Thai authorities must really crack themselves up when reading these forums sometimes.
