PATTAYA:--Pattaya police seized more than 22,000 methamphetamine tables and arrested seven people who allegedly sold a variety of narcotics in the Pattaya area.

Si Saket-native Phuwanai Pongked, 19, is alleged to be the ring leader of the drug network based in Sriracha broken up by authorities Aug. 4. He and Wuthipong Lertampai, 20, of Rayong, Pattarawin Sarnsawek, 19, of Sriracha, and Ruangsak Barameemuang, 20, of Phetchabun, were taken into custody with 21,200 ya ba tablets, 782 grams of crystal meth and 30 bottles of ketamine.

Their arrests came after Pattaya police picked up Jirapong Tienpue, 25, of Sriracha, with 3.2 g. of ya ice, 300 ya ba pills and a loaded 9mm handgun.

Under interrogation, he gave up alleged partners Pattaradorn Rujuthanai, 29, of Sriracha, and Piya Jitpinit, 21, of Rayong, who were caught with 1000 speed pills, and, respectively, a half-gram of ketamine with two Nimetazepam tranquilizers that meth heads use to come off their highs gently. A loaded 9mm also was taken off Piya.
