Visa From Thai Consulate in Ho Chi Minh City

Featured Replies

Has anyone here had experience with getting a visa from the Thai Consulate in Ho Chi Minh City? The consulate site says that they want to see evidence of travel to and FROM Thailand. How strict are they about that? I have a feeling that the answer is: "You can never be sure." But I'd like to hear from anyone who has had some experience with this. Thanks very much for any help you can offer.

Let us know how you get on.

You don't say what type of visa you are referring to. For non-O, in my case, for my son, application (obviously) plus copy of birth certificate, his ID, his house registration, a letter of support from his mother (my partner. Yet to encounter a problem, apart from the last time when they were asking questions about my partner's recent name change not matching that on the birth certificate, which was quickly addressed by another member of staff - but then, unknown to me until extension time, issued a visa based on my 'wife'.

It's a small and friendly embassy. I got a SETV there with no problem, but they were absolutely strict on the flights in and out of Thailand rule - the guy in front of me was refused for not providing this.
