I've been doing the 30 day VOA thing for two months now. So i only got one month left. Now, my visa "pimp" tells me that he can get a 1 year non-imm visa for 20k baht by sending my passport to the US. This raises a few questions of course.

1. there will be no entry or exit stamps to and from the US in my passport.

2. there will be exit and entry stamps from and to Thailand in my passport. how their obtained i don't know.

So i guess that i could potentially run into legal trouble if the passport was examined thouroughly.

If anyone has had relative experiences pls let me know what the potential risks are.

Thank you very much.

The service mentioned upstairs is not legal and surely the stamps are not correct.

Avoid it or else you get in deep trouble.

Like the post of KiwiFisking BKK said there are companies who offer VisaRuns/Tourist Visa Packages Tours in case you feel more comfortable .

ThaiVisaService and Jack's offer regular guided trips to Laos .

PM me if you need furtehr info.

Thanks

Definitely highly illegal and can get you nto serious trouble!

You have to physically leave the country along with your passport.

If they ever have any reason to suspect something is shady, you could face immediate arrest into the IDC, which is not a place you would want to be!!!

There are people on Samui that have done this, only their `visas` come from Germany.

I would not want to be them when they do their next border stamp.

I have heard from various guys that they send passport to their friends in foreign countries.

The funny thing is that the consulates are issueing in act Visas to them even they see that the person is still in Thailand.

Case of TIT.

The problem they face is how to activate the visa.

Going to a landborder is out of question.

Once this is spotted by Immigration they will just cancell the visa and give you a 30days stamp, provided you are entitled to it.

This was a popular scam up to about three years ago, lots of people

got into a lot of poo over it. Visa companies included.

Forget it.

Naka.
