webfact
Advice for motorists to bypass Chaengwattana road on Aug 25 By Chalarntorn Yothasmutra BANGKOK: -- Motorists are advised to avoid Chaengwattana road on Friday in order not to get stuck in anticipated heavy traffic as many supporters of former prime minister Yingluck Shinawatra are expected to show up to give her moral support on her judgement day. The Supreme Court’s Criminal Division for Holders of Political Offices is to deliver a verdict on the case in which she was charged with dereliction of duty in the handling of the rice pledging scheme and with violation of the anti-corruption law. Pol Maj-Gen Chirapat Poomichit, deputy commissioner of metropolitan police, and Pol Maj-Gen Chirasant Kaewsaeng-aek, the traffic police commander, told a press conference on Wednesday that police would check every vehicle that passes through the government complex and this will cause a slowdown of traffic flow and, eventually, traffic gridlock. Recommended detour routes: Chaengwattana road (outbound) at Laksi intersection : From Vibhavadi Rangsit road – turning left at Laksi intersection – Kamphaeng Phet 6 road – Bangkhen intersection – turning right into Ngamwongwan road (outbound) Full story: http://englishnews.thaipbs.or.th/advice-motorists-bypass-chaengwattana-road-aug-25/ -- © Copyright Thai PBS 2017-08-

Whenever possible avoid the area tomorrow all together. They are so nervous. Warnings and threats on multiple levels.
otherstuff1957
I saw dozens of emergency vehicles heading north on Vibhavadi Rangsit this morning before 7. I was wondering if it there was a fire or a big accident in northern BKK, but they were probably just heading up to Chang Wattana!
