BANGKOK: -- Prime Minister Gen Prayut Chan-o-cha assured today that the annual military reshuffle list is transparent and fair.

He said the reshuffle list is considered in accordance with official procedure and will be finished within its scheduled timeframe end of October.

He said promotion was scrutinized by a committee based on appropriateness of each individual and on fairness as all promoted are military personnel and they aren’t divided as earlier speculated by the media.

How about a military budget that is transparent?

Can we get transparency into the finances of military officers, starting at the top?

Is the Thai military shuffle anything like the mud crab shuffle?

In my mind's eye I can see the one and only leading the chorus line.

It is transparent. It increases marginally higher than Thailands growth since 2014, while education, infrastructure, agriculture and healthcare are in the gutter.

Transparent in the since of showing what part of the military budget goes where, accompanied with regular independent audits to ensure the money is used for what it was meant to be used for.

Look forward to the links for those audit reports.

Oh I see lets start a new Sud-committee to look into the transparency of the previous Sub-committees. Now that would interesting, lets see the PM juggle that one.............................

The people this government exists to serve are not bothered. They send their children abroad for an education, have access to excellent private healthcare, again often abroad, the infrastructure investment is concentrated in Bangkok anyway, and the agricultural peasantry provides the serfs who make them rich. So let the boys spend some money on the toys...
