Checkpoints on Bangkok-bound Ubon Ratchathani roads

By The Nation

Police, troops and Interior Ministry officials on Thursday set up several checkpoints on three major roads in Ubon Ratchathani that link to Bangkok in a last-minute effort to thwart transportation of supporters to the capital.

The checkpoints were functioning on Highway No 24 (Chokechai-Dej Udom), Highway No 23 (Ubon Ratchathani-Khon Kaen) and Highway No 227 (Ubon Ratchathani-Nakhon Ratchasima).

Officials staffing the checkpoints stopped passenger buses, charter buses, passenger vans and chartered vans to check.

A source said red-shirt leaders did not organise transport for supporters of former prime minister Yingluck Shinawatra to the Supreme Court, because the leaders have been under close scrutiny by the military.

Funny some peoples perception of Democracy !

Meanwhile, the Team Yingluck supporters buses from Udon and Khon Kaen have already circumnavigated Saraburi via Highway 2.

Thank you for telling them where the checkpoints are located!

How do you determine if one is a Yingluck supporter? And what crime will you charge them with?
