webfact
Gold card holders assured of continuing healthcare after Mahesak hospital quit universal health programme By Chalarntorn Yothasmutra BANGKOK: -- Beneficiaries under Universal Health Coverage (UHC) or Gold Card scheme in Bangkok are assured of continuation of medical care from the state despite the fact that one private hospital, Mahesak, has quit the scheme. Gold card holders in Pom Prab and Phra Nakorn districts have expressed concern that, without the Maheksak hospital where they used to get medical care, they may have to use the service of hospitals which are far away from home and that will be a problem in case of emergency. About 110,000 gold card holders are entitled to get medical care from Mahesak hospital under the 30-baht universal healthcare programme.
