I'm no expert coder or web designer but you're gonna need to give more info about what you want to achieve and how.

As JaiMaai said, we need a bit more info on the what and why of your quest.

You can save the Internet page you found to your hard drive then edit the html markup code to change and update it, but most web-based forms have to be 'posted' somewhere (a backend database) for the data to be changed and recalled.

You can create something similar in most word processing applications, allowing you to save and update it. But still that's not very handy unless you plan on creating a printed hard copy to do fast box checking for a shopping trip.

If you are an Apple or Android smartphone user there are gobs of applications for keeping lists of various types for referral.  I use google's 'keep' software as I can update the items kept on it from my phone or web browser when logged into my google account. It even has time and location -based reminder options.

Thank you for your detailed explanation of all of this.

I had no idea as to how involved it might be.

I have just saved these images on my hard drive, I cannot alter them.

This is what I was looking for, a simple app that could do this.

How can I create a similar check box list template, that is NOT interactive and free please?

I wonder what you mean by "not interactive"? Presumably that you dont want the end viewer to be able to change the state of the checkbox. But do you also not need the value to be returned in a form?
If so, what you are really doing is just making something that looks like a checkbox but isn't, and for that you just need a bit of HTML that you can format with CSS in the normal way to look like whatever you want.

But then again the examples you gave were for Excel checkbox lists, which are a completely different thing.

Ah. Maybe all you want to do is to mock up a checkbox list as an image using some graphics software?

If so, any decent graphics editor will allow you to alter just the text shown in those images. Even Paint will do it (free with Windows). Basically just sample the background colour of the area you want to change the text on, cover the existing text with that colour, then add your new text.

Correct.

Looks like a checkbox but isn't.

Exactly.

Excel checkbox lists.

These images were solely to display what I am requesting here, as you see I have had problems conveying it in words.

So really it is possible to create the same image in Paint.

Great, thank you for your help.

Sorry not very good at this, could someone please try what has been proposed here, and if it's not too complicated and long, go through the various steps to re-create this image please.

That I can change the text at will.

If you already have a google account:

keep.google.com (in a web browser)  -and-   Android google keep app

Keep_example(1).JPG.7bb5aa3783fbdcc0534167c27eaf5852.JPG        keep_example(2).png.f8b0b11eb0113e9ca8e15e555a50a494.png

Otherwise, I'm very confused as to what want.
Is this for you, or other people. Something other people access 'online' via some website, and do you want that online version keep track of what's been checked??  Very confused.

Thank you for your reply.

This is not for me, or my own use.

Rather it is solely to send to others.

The purpose of this proposed format is to use it in correspondence.

The fact that the "Check if done" is not interactive it is not important.

However I want to specifically keep it, as it emphasizes what is being written on the check list.

I honestly thought that just to replicate such a graphic, or copy and paste onto another format, that you could change the contents, would be relatively straight forward.

It is. That is precisely what you need to do.

Unfortunately you will need to learn how to use some of the basic functions of graphics editing software such as Paint or Photoshop or many others. There are literally thousands of websites that explain how to do this.

Yea, photoshop will let you keep all the 'elements' in layers that can be edited easily. Paint, or other graphic editors, not so much, but it is doable.

I'll see if I can knock up a quick table you can use in a word processor that you can easily edit.  But you'll still need to know how to use whatever program you want to 'generate' the html or static graphic image to edit and share it.

Check List

Check if done

Go for a walk

Create a Pivot Table

Send a mail to John

Call Peter

Buy Vegetables

Pay Credit Card Bill

Sleep Well

If you copy/paste this into a new edit box you can edit the text.

Copy it to a word processor and you can edit everything, including colors and number of lines.

If you want to make sure others can always see it, use the Microsoft Snipping Tool to take an image of your creation and save it as a static graphic image.

Which edit box are you using please?

Do you have any other software in conjunction with your edit box to open?

The place you type your reply on ThaiVisa is called an "edit box".

If you want to do a quick and dirty edit then copy/paste my example into the "edit box" and can edit the text.

Likewise if you copy then paste into most email programs or web-based email clients it should appear intact and allow you to edit the text.

Otherwise you can copy the example and paste it into a word processing document.

I created the example in OpenOffice word processor using the Table function. Most higher-feature word processing applications should be able to display and allow editing.

Progress - screen shot 1382.

Cannot figure out how to change the text wording, nor how to add additional down lines please.

My mistake.

You've pasted your original graphic image.

An image can only be edited using image tools (at the pixel level).

I created a text-based example table for you.

Copy and paste this one into your response box, or into a word processor, and try editing the text.

If you want to change the number of lines then you'll need to use your word processor and fiddle with the table feature for inserting or deleting 'rows'.

Check List

Check if done

Launch web browser

Open ThaiVisa

Find RichCor post

Copy text-based example

Optionally, paste that example in your response back to me

Or, paste into word proc

Edit text to suite need

Copy/Paste into email

Save file for later

Thank you for your detailed response.

On your new formatted graphic, I cannot copy.

However when I quote your graphic in this Thai Visa message to you, it does come up with copy.
Now I have tried to paste this into Open Office Writer - Requested clipboard format is not available,
Word Pad, Yahoo email Compose box, Notepad, and Notepad ++ all without success.
All the above was using Firefox.

Now Internet Explorer.
Cannot copy from your post, nor when I quote it.

I'm not sure why you're experiencing such difficulty.

As this is a 'table' the simpler text processors won't work. You'd have to use a full feature word processor like Microsoft Word or OpenOffice.

I've attached the OpenOffice doc example I created to this post.

When pasting to send to others you'll need to make sure it supports tables (copy/paste and see if it appear), or use another program like Microsoft Snipit Tool to take a screengrab of the item and turn it into a static graphic image that can be easily sent as a graphic.
