Red-shirt core leaders’ political allegiance unaffected by Yingluck’s exit

Red-shirt core leaders in the North and the Northeast have declared that their political ideology and allegiance remain unchanged after the escape out of the country of former prime minister Yingluck Shinawatra.

 

Mr Petcharawat Wattanapongsirikul, leader of the Rak Chiangmai 51 group which is closely affiliated with the United Front for Democracy against Dictatorship (UDD), told Thai PBS that he didn’t expect Ms Yingluck to flee the country.

 

But his group’s political stance remains unchanged and his group will not engage in any political activity for the time being, said Petcharawat.

This gentleman denied that his group were part of a claimed-attempt to declare a seperate Lanna state in early-2014, it was all a big misunderstanding  ...

This was under caretaker-PM Yingluck, one can only think that with friends like this, who needed Suthep & company ?  The army weren't all-that impressed, either. 

 

Really the only thing to do is for all parties to step aside and let those Democrats enjoy what they have created. How long will it take the dems to realise that the red shirts were in fact their greatest ally to a voice in parliament. It was very hard for the army to battle 2 strong groups, now they only need deal with one. The yellows will have to do as they are told.  They might just find, their best friend the army is no longer interested in sharing the power now that their greatest adversary  is gone.  

Let the dems enjoy working under the appointed senate and follow the 20 year plan that they will be responsible for. It's going to be hilarious to watch. Let a few of the dems get in prison for 40 years and be forced to leave the country.

As for 'dictatorial'  Pot, Black comes to mind    

From what I've seen and heard in the north the red shirts could run a soi dog as their candidate and still win an election, because of their long running sheer hatred of the southern elites and their bully boys.

No they just take over the country, dismiss elections and bar gatherings of more than five people. Cool huh?

ideology is money, and allegiance is to their bank account

if someone else had a need for a thuggish group of people whose hairline starts at the eyebrows and started to fund them, they would gladly done the new chartreuse shirt (although they couldn't pronounce it)

truth is it wont change anything because their boss thaksin is the one  that pays them, as long as they get their money they will do what ever he wants them too, yl was just another puppet for their boss

Just a few hot heads - what like the men in black who shot at security forces whilst using women and children as shields; or the morons who applauded the murder of children at their rally?

Just like they could run a telephone pole as candidate for the Bangkok governor election and still win..............

Indeed. When compared to what's happening around the world, it's very mild. Maybe someone hasn't got access to the trough and the funding has dried up?

Nail.. head.. without funding the hot heads seem to disappear. Plus of course Charlem is not in charge of the police anymore to deflect investigations.. so the risk is higher. 

Really confuses me when red leaders say its the elite that is dividing the nation, while the red leaders put road markers in provinces stating there is a red shirt zone and create red villages. For all I know the elites don't care about the poor, while the reds a spewing the propaganda dividing and marking the divisions themselves
