August 29, 20179 yr Hi all, I am from the UK, age 64, retired from work. I have been to Khon Kaen twice recently over the last two UK Winter periods. Then I stayed on the West side of Khon Kaen near Ban Kok road. Last time I met a Thai lady that I felt was the right lady for me and so after returning to the UK I did the necessary work on my house to let it and obtained a long stay Non Immigrant O-A visa. I have rented out my house and arrived here in Khon Kaen 5 days ago. This time I have entered into renting an apartment long time near the Northern end of Bueng Kaen Nakon, the large lake near the high temple. I know a couple of friends that are still living in Khon Kaen, it would be lovely to meet a few more. Last time I played some golf and went swimming. Basically I'm looking for someone to met up with occasionally and have a chat, maybe have a meal together ........ hopefully meet some good friends. I started to look on Thaivisa about 2 years ago before I first visited Khon Kaen. I chatted to a guy from the UK named Duncan who owned a pub in Khon Kaen but had then sold it, he mentioned that farang meet on a Friday evening at the pub by the large lake. After that he left Thaivisa and left Thailand I think. Anyone know if Duncan was referring to Bueng Kaen Nakon and if farangs still meet on a Friday evening? Thanks Keith
September 7, 20179 yr Usually foreigners meet up randomly in some of the beer bars around Pullman Hotel. Most foreigners are very easy to get to know, and you will soon find out that we can chat about most things really. Luckily is is not like back home, where you start chatting with a stranger at a bar, and one might sometimes be looked at as a weird person who approaches strangers.
