I comes down to actual electability. Harris had that "fingernails screeching down the chalkboard" laugh. AOC has that baby girl voice no one will take seriously. Bill Clinton won an election with the women's vote being an important facet. When asked why they voted for him, a large number of them said they thought he was cute.

Unfortunately, I think you’re right. There’s no way in hell that a person should be considered electable or unelectable based on the sound of their voice, but that’s where we’re at. I would fully support AOC based on where she’d take the country, and so would most Americans if they could get past the optics, but she’d have real trouble in the general election: she’s female, and her voice sometimes sounds funny, and her name doesn’t sound entirely “American” somehow.

So the Democrats would be smart to push a straight, white, cisgender male who’s quick-witted and camera ready; Newsom would be just fine.

Newsom would be the better choice. AOC could be a VP. I think she's great, but many would find her too radical.

Hunter Biden is making a lot of comments lately - said he's not interested in running - but that could be a smokescreen. Why is he speaking up so much now? He was almost silent in recent years.

Anyway, the Dems better get their sh!t together and soon. They still look lost in the wilderness... And they need to attract working class voters again. The ones they abandoned in the later years of Bill Clinton's presidency. Partial resurgence for the Dems with Obama, but Hillary basically ignored the masses to cuddle up with Hollywood weirdos and musicians. Huge mistake and look what happened.

They have. SEVERAL times. The DNC keeps shooting themselves in the foot and stabbing candidates they don't like in the back.

I still maintain Bernie would have won because the largest group of active voters are the independents who would have thrown all their votes his way. The treachery was made quite clear when Bernie was speaking at a large DNC rally. That insufferable (blank) Debbie Wasserman Schultz, who was heading the DNC at the time, couldn't hide the look of contempt and hatred on her ugly mug, shooting daggers towards Bernie as she stood behind his back. Add to that how all the other candidates ganged up and dropped out of the race Labor Day Weekend when it looked like Sleepy Joe was swirling down the toilet. Bernie never got a fair shot.

Next, Harris was just crammed down the voters' throats. I'm not gonna bother looking up exactly who the guy was, but he was a very good possible candidate with the right pedigree AND a handsome head of hair. The DNC in its infinite idiocy decided they'd run a short, controversial candidate with no spine and horrible track record because she checked off the black woman box. There was no real primary in spite of their BS claims to have run one.

I grow so weary of politicians of every flavor pi$$ing in my ear and telling me it's raining, and lately they don't even bother lying about it.
