Man shot dead by federal agents in Minneapolis

ICE agents shot 37-year-old nurse Alex Pretti in the chest during chaotic Minneapolis protests! The explosive incident was caught on video, showing violent clashes between agents and protesters. Voices rang out as gunfire cracked the tense standoff, leaving residents shocked and outraged.

Alex Pretti, a kind-hearted ICU nurse, tragically became the latest victim in a boiling conflict with ICE. Pretti's death sent shockwaves through the community. Friends and colleagues mourned him as a compassionate hero devoted to helping critically ill veterans. Minnesota’s Governor Tim Walz slammed ICE for their aggressive actions, declaring the officers “violent” and demanding they leave the state immediately.

Shockingly, a US law enforcement officer reportedly had a finger bitten off by a protester during the mayhem. US Homeland Security claims tempers flared as protesters “obstructed and assaulted” officers on the scene. Assistant Secretary Tricia McLaughlin fired off on social media, declaring, “He will lose his finger,” amidst the uproar.

What’s next for Minneapolis? The aftermath has left residents questioning future protests and law enforcement strategies. National and local authorities are on high alert as tensions threaten to escalate even further.

Key Takeaways

  • ICE agents shoot ICU nurse Alex Pretti amid Minneapolis chaos!

  • Law enforcement officer loses finger in violent protest clash!

  • Governor Walz demands ICE’s immediate exit from Minnesota!

Mainstream Media:

I just did a quick Youtube search.

There are plenty of other incidents that don't get much coverage.

But just watching this video made my blood pressure go up.

Crowds are surrounding and harassing these ICE guys.

And working under these stressful conditions day in and day out is making them snap and get hostile, in my opinion.

These protestors are indirectly fueling these murders.

Are they "Nazis" for going around asking people if they are US citizens? What do you think?

Yeah I agree but it is an open forum for opinions but sure is worth noting how some of the folks here think. I as an American VN vet, govt service am embarrassed and ashamed of the voters of the US now. I would like to say you get what you asked for, and I for one even though half way around the world realized that DJT would be doing a lot of what he is doing except it is even worse than I thought possible for any American elected would do like this.

While right-leaning media frequently highlights individual cases to argue for stricter policies, some mainstream outlets have focused on broader data suggesting that immigrants are less likely to commit crimes than native-born citizens.

Media Coverage and Key Cases (2020–2025)
High-profile cases that have received significant media attention include:

  • Laken Riley (2024): The murder of the 22-year-old nursing student in Georgia, allegedly by a Venezuelan illegal immigrant, became a major national story, fuelling debates on immigration, police, and security.

  • Rachel Morin (2023): The murder of a Maryland mother of five, allegedly by an illegal immigrant from El Salvador, received widespread coverage.

  • NYPD Times Square Assault (2024): A caught-on-video assault of police officers by several immigrants in Times Square was heavily covered.

  • ICE "Worst of the Worst" Releases (2025): The Department of Homeland Security and various media outlets reported on the arrests of numerous illegal immigrants with past convictions for child rape, sexual assault, and homicide.

Right-Wing Media: Tends to focus on individual incidents of violent crime to highlight what they describe as a "migrant crime wave" caused by porous border policies.

Mainstream Media: Often covers these cases but also highlights studies indicating that immigrants, including those in the country illegally, do not commit crimes at higher rates than native-born Americans.

And the victim blaming rolls on. No! He didn’t fight back. Numerous video evidence shows that he held an empty hand in the air and a phone in the other. This was seconds after he came to assist a lady who’d been assaulted by ICE thugs. He was then murdered.

Anyone who supports these actions is very sick in the head.

It's quite obvious!

But pushing the girl to the ground is bad police protocol.

Police normally don't try to push people to the ground. They try to handcuff them maybe if they want to arrest them, but that's not normal police protocol. She was just standing there.

I am beginning to think the government cut corners on training these ICE officers and that's what the real problem is. They do not have sufficient training to do police work, it seems to me. Maybe they needed to hire too many agents in a short amount of time without proper training.

Yes. These ICE are in Minnesota to round up Somalians. That is their mission,. Crowd control is for the local police . Where are they?. And what about the billions that were scammed by the Somalians who no doubt were shielded by the state and local governments "sanctuary cities" ICE is only there because these state and local saps are complisent/, enabling the above

Alex Pretti’s Sig handgun has history of accidentally firing — offering possible clue to why Border agent shot him

(NY Post 25 JAN 2025)

Armed Minneapolis anti-ICE protester Alex Pretti was carrying a popular handgun that has a history of unintentionally firing — leading some gun experts to suggest that the gun might have accidentally discharged after a Border Patrol agent grabbed it from him, causing another agent to open fire, killing him Saturday.

Rob Doar, a lawyer for the Minnesota Gun Owners Caucus, said he believes that Pretti’s gun went off after the agent grabbed it, leading the other agent to open fire.

“I believe it’s highly likely the first shot was a negligent discharge from the agent in the grey jacket after he removed the Sig P320 from Pretti’s holster while exiting the scene,” Doar said on X.

You guys wanted this, so what did you guys expect was going to happen when Trump turned up for his second term?

As much as most Americans hate to admit it you are absolutely correct, America's very foundations are built upon violence and guns, and nothing seems to ever change. The dems put forth a simple proposal just to expand background checks and the republicans shoot it down like it was the most overreaching policy ever suggested.

The NRA has way too much power, guys like Trump are totally be beholden to their lobbies, and I doubt if anything will ever change in my lifetime.

The US is a very sick, demented, twisted, confused, and morally bankrupt culture. It is a nation in rapid decline. It is not even a pale shadow of what it used to be. I am infinitely disappointed in my country. They could do so much better.

You want sour and sober? You want disenfranchisement and disappointment? You want unpleasant and stressed? Come to America.

Something needs to be done. And American politicians are very weak and in constant fear of fighting a constitutional amendment that was written at a time when militias were needed and guns were manual and fairly primitive.

I share the sentiment about conservatives supporting super liberal gun control laws. I get really really sick of the phrase "thoughts and prayers", it means absolutely nothing. Are these people actually getting down on their knees and praying for the victims and their families, or are they just simply saying that inane and offensive trash when there's a microphone in front of them, which is sickening and disingenuous to the max.

Neither party seems to want to address gun control in a serious manner, and every time the Democrats make an attempt, the Republicans block them.

The GOP lets the killing continue.

According to an amendment of the US constitution, everybody is allowed to carry hand- or other guns.

But.. why FIRST take away that handgun, and in a split second later, execute him with 8-10 shots ?

Only in Iran, Russia, North Korea the police can walk away by that.

As I have previously stated did they all know he'd been disarmed, could he have had more than one weapon, did he reach for his holster not knowing he'd been disarmed, I've seen it being said they he may have pulled out one of his extended magazines in the melee which on this particular gun looks a bit like the stock of a pistol and all this in a matter of a split second.

These are all reasonable questions but I'm sure many on here are beyond reason.

As for carrying concealed yes if licenced this is a 2nd amendment right but along with that right goes responsibility and the legal requirement (in Minnesota at least) to carry said licence or another form of ID.

How about minimum sentences for people that violate gun law, and intentionally lie on government forms?

No, just that being a VN vet that had heel spurs and no exemption could hopefully affect those reading my response and understanding why I might feel the way I do. But it is obvious to me, that many VN vets do not always share the same feelings I have for this president. To each their own I guess but IMHO he is remains a 5-year old spoiled brat.
