Prince Harry and Meghan Plan UK Return After Six Years

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are planning to relocate to the UK later this month, the BBC understands, ending their period living in the US.

Prince Harry and Meghan are expected to move to a private, non-royal home outside London, according to reports first published by the Daily Telegraph and the Sun.

Their children, Prince Archie, seven, and Princess Lilibet, five, are due to begin at a British school in September.

King Charles was informed about the planned move on Sunday. However, there are no plans for Harry or Meghan to return to official roles as working members of the Royal Family.

Family informed

The King was not aware of the move before last weekend, but is said to welcome the chance to spend more time with the Sussexes and their children privately.

Prince William and Princess Catherine have also been told about the plans.

The couple and their children visited Charles and Queen Camilla at Highgrove in Gloucestershire in July. The planned relocation was not discussed during that meeting, which Buckingham Palace described as a "private family occasion".

The visit was significant because it was the first time Charles had seen his grandchildren in person for more than four years.

Harry and Meghan have not travelled to the UK together since 2022, when they attended the funeral of Queen Elizabeth II.

No return to royal duties

The Sussexes left the UK and stepped back from royal duties in early 2020 before moving to California.

Relations between Harry, Meghan and other members of the Royal Family have been strained since then, although the July meeting was seen as an important development in Harry's relationship with his father.

Despite their planned return, Harry and Meghan will continue to have no official royal role and will remain private individuals.

Security concerns

Security arrangements have been a longstanding source of tension for Harry, particularly when visiting the UK.

The couple's July meeting with Charles was reportedly reconsidered after Harry's request for police protection was rejected.

Last year, Harry lost a legal challenge against the decision to reduce the level of security provided to him and his family in the UK after he ceased to be a working royal and moved to the US.

Harry has previously said concerns over the safety of his wife and children have made him reluctant to bring them to Britain.

She won't need to take the English language exam as she already speaks English. In time she will need to pass the Life in the UK test but that comes much later. She needs to apply for Settlement visa and of course, full biometrics and other supporting evidence wil be required. Unless she's given a waiver!

Do you really think they won't make an exception for the wife of a prince?

Not many, they're widely ridiculed or ignored.

Probably why Rachel agreed to return. Challenge fuel is better than no fuel for a raging narcissist.

Welcome home Harry and Megan.

The nation will not forget that you, Harry, bravely served in the military for your country in Afghanistan.

That the far right media are obsessed with dissing this family is reason enough for me, an anti royalist, to think that they ain’t that bad.

Cut ‘em some slack guys.

I wouldn't push the served in Afganistan bit Harry didn't serve in Afganistan Harry was a liability in Afghanistan and always had his minders with him.

He was as thick as sh-it useless as a soldier and tended to panic, some of the nicknames he was given "Bunker Boy" "X-Box Harry" and others I won't post here, he put other far better mens lives at risk.

The only thing he was good at was playing with his joystick.

Edit: I got this from my son who served in the Royal Marines in Afganistan at the same time Harry was there.

Oh goodie, I reckon we'll be hearing some raunchy stories again, similar to the stories from the toe sucking Fergie.

Fergie would make a great mamasun, she'd train the bar girls how to please the customer

What, so Harry didn't serve in Afghanistan but your son served in Afghanistan at the same time Harry was there?

Of course my brother served over there and says exactly the opposite.

Totally stoked by this.

Been following Megs for years... she's had so many trying moments and hurdles, but she's always overcome.

Media has not been fair to them at all.

The Duchess of Sussex could return to acting when she comes back to Britain with Prince Harry and their children, according to reports.

Meghan is reported to have been offered a role in a new UK-based entertainment project and that is said to be one of the reasons why Harry and her decided to quit the US.

“Harry and Meghan's team has not denied the story, but aren't giving any details at this stage of what Meghan's new role is,” said the BBC’s Senior Royal Correspondent Daniela Relph.

Meghan’s most famous acting role was as paralegal Rachel Zane, who becomes a lawyer, in hit US legal drama Suits.

But she effectively put her acting career on hold when she married Prince Harry in 2018.

Recently, Meghan took on a cameo role, playing herself in the upcoming comedy Close Personal Friends.

It also stars Lily Collins and Brie Larson.

The possibility of Meghan reviving her acting career more significantly was first reported in Australian media outlet news.com.au.

“A return to acting could be lucrative for Meghan,” explained Ms Relph.

“There will be huge interest in whatever she does in this space, as the Sussex's UK return continues to grab attention.”

The BBC said on their return, Meghan also hopes to expand her US-based lifestyle and cooking brand, As Ever

Could Harrys move back to the UK be connected to the money he will have to pay the Daily Mail ?

The USA authorities may arrest him if there's a warrant out for his arrest for non payment of the money , I doubt whether the UK authorities would arrest him
