  1. Well, there’s the Thai Culture. I don’t think that the government will let the liberal progressives mess it up. Many Asian countries guard their cultures against foreign influence.
  2. I'm pretty sure that I read this post several years ago. Maybe it has been posted again as a troll topic.
  3. I’ve had two good implants done at the St.Louis Hospital Dental Clinic. They are still chewing strong after a couple of years. They used to cost about 70,000 each a few years ago but may have gone up. They have been absolutely trouble-free. The dentists are amicable but have busy schedules. All of their equipment is now hnew since they moved to the newly remodeled 23rd floor. There are many competent dentists in Bangkok but friendliness is important in my estimation. Good luck with whomever you choose.
  4. The time that I didn’t receive a reply, I had put on a ten baht stamp. When I went to CW, they told me that the new postage requirement was the cost of sending the return envelope by SMS - 37.5 Baht. Apparently that amount in stamps is OK too.
  5. At the age of 81, I self insure. Probably am not well enough to make the trip back to America for treatment under Medicare. Recently had my third angioplasty for $22,000.
  6. I have always received my new reporting date by mail except for last year when the postage for the return envelope was increased to the SMS rate (37.5 Baht). When my new reporting date wasn’t returned after about two months, I went to CW and received my new reporting date without any fine. I think that some online pages still say the postage for the return envelope. That is wrong. The amount is now 37.5 Baht.
  7. I have submitted my yearly TM 7 to CW immigration for many years. It’s always in black ink; however, I sign it with blue ink. I carry a blue pen with me to immigration so that I can sign all of my documents in blue ink. I sign the TM 7 in front of the IO. I’ve never seen any of the forms printed in blue.
  8. I too have completed the TM 7 in Adobe Acrobat. Since I haven’t changed where I live, I just pull up the form on my computer, save it with a new name, edit the PDF to change the relevant dates, and then print it out using two-sided printing which my Brother does automatically. I copy the completed form to three separate places for security and then I’m good to go until next year.
  9. Please search for the TM 49 mailing details on the aseannow website. Mailing now costs 37.5 baht for SMS each way.
  10. I’ve been mailing in my report for years. I had to go in person once when the new mailing fee was imposed (SMS both ways) but it now is going smoothly. Preparing the TM-47 and mailing it only takes about an hour.
  11. Thanks, DrJack. BTW, I could see the captcha letters clearly and thought that I entered the correct letters in the box below but never got a positive response. Perhaps my using a VPN is causing a problem. The letters appear on my Android phone but don't appear on my iPad. My iPad uses a SIM to access the AIS WiFi.
  12. My 90-day report is due on April 23 so I should have mailed my report on Monday to be the requested 15 days in advance but I forgot to do it. I had to go to Chaeng Wattana today to renew my extension of stay so I thought I would just report in person. When I first got to Chaeng Wattana, I picked up queue number 515. As I had an appointment at 1400, getting my extension went well and I got my passport back in about half an hour. The 90-day queue had only gotten up to 234 and it seemed impossible to get in today. I sat down right In Immigration and tried to file online. Apparently I was never able to read the Capcha letters correctly. I have forgotten my immigration password but couldn’t my password sent to my email. I finally gave up and mailed my tm47 by EMS this afternoon. I don’t know whether it will be accepted two days late. Has anyone had a positive result when they’ve mailed their TM47 with fewer than 15 days before it is due? The 90-day report is really a hassle. Any comments will be gratefully accepted
  13. I thought that you were looking for an alternative to your present bank with an account that would pay a better rate of interest than you are getting now. What is your present bank and how much interest are you earning? Your question didn’t seem to about “just visas.”
  14. You actually have to transfer the 65,000 baht to your Thai bank account each month and it must be posted with the correct code (FTT) to show that the transfer comes from abroad. There is no proving of the 65,000. You must actually receive it in your Thai bank account.
