September 6, 200718 yr Hi all, Appreciate the flood control rationale, but isn't in this day and age of tabbed browsing and {relatively} decent connexions here 60 seconds somewhat excessive, would not, say, 30 seconds be more appropriate? Just a thought. Regards

September 9, 200718 yr I don't think it's the 60 seconds that was the issue, but _when_ the check in the code was done. It was done on pressing 'reply' not when sending the post you had written. So it didn't matter if you just wanted to start writing a new topic that would take 5 minutes to put together - you had to wait before the flood-control would let you to even begin your writing. This also made it more of a problem to go in afterwards and pick up quotes if you needed to edit your post, especially if someone had posted just before you and you had to clarify what you where answering too.
September 9, 200718 yr I don't think it's the 60 seconds that was the issue, but _when_ the check in the code was done. I noticed this problem when hitting the "Preview Post" button: if I've just posted one reply and have another tab open with another reply ready to be checked by hitting the "Preview Post" button, it sometimes tells me to wait. I think the 30 second reduction should eliminate the majority of these occurrences.
