Don't be surprised if part of TOT's network is unavailable. They're almost done changing the 125.24.x.x range over to 118.173.x.x

And since there are hardly any major problems, I suspect TOT has hired a bunch of farang engineers to perform this migration....

I do not understand any of this. Could this be the reason that my TOT Adsl has been at almost a complete standstill for the

past six weeks?

I have called the helpline numerous times. The final "solution" was to downgrade my service and payments to Supercyber -

then if it ever worked again, I would be happy. My area is between Ban Phe and Mae Phim. My neighbors are reporting poor TOT service, but not as poor as mine. And yes, engineers have checked and re-checked my phone lines.

I have a 2 year history with TOT, in this current location. When I first moved down here, I thought, this is bad, but for sure they will improve infrastructure and the lines. Instead, everything appears to be slowly degrading.

TOT's service quality has always been poor compared to European standards. But we're in Thailand.

And TOT does not have engineers on a high technical level.

Of course there are numerous technical reasons for their performance, but if you look into all the other threads and the articles in the newspapers over the last years, you'll see that the most important reason is poor management. TOT was a regulating state-owned phone company and now they have to become a profit-based company. That requires a completely different kind of management with different skills.

And a lot of time.....

I live in Roi Et and have had it with TT&T, and TOT......'net service here is so slow, goes down at least once a day, often more, and sometimes takes 2 or 3 minutes to load a web page. What is the satellite hook-up like and how are the speeds?

New TOT smtp server address: 118.175.8.10

Hopefully this one works better than smtp.totonline.net

Thank you for posting this. Today 28-05 my mail client Thunderbird refused to send a mail (using smtp.totonline.net)) at 11:00 hours while at about 10:00 hours it did. So i changed it to the one above and it worked. The only quistion is for how long?

For the last three years i had to change my SMTP settings about 6 times. The reason why you have to change is usely that the server adress is on the black list becaus spamming. So i think that the TOT company not care's about who is doing what with their servers.

Does anybody know the TT&T smtp server address?

I've just moved house and had to change from TOT to TT&T and now couldn't send emails via thunderbird. Was only there for three days before having to return to the UK for a month. It would be nice to be able to set it up as soon as I get back.

Why in the world would anyone trust their Thai ISP's SMTP server with something as important as email? I use Tuffmail (not free), but there are other options that are (such as Gmail).
