The stray animals are not the subject of this topic, YOUR animals and what you don't know to do is the topic. So you cannot avoid people read about animal and your private life and make their comments.

"if any one of you spent 4 years in the house i lived in, you would possibly understand"

You follow talk about your private life, but we cannot answer and post our comments. BTW what it was, a jail?

yes they had to vacate the house behind the high school at the end of april.

I've seen PAC on the Hospital road (North of Thong Sala), 500 metres after the H on the same side. There is a small advertising show you the location.

I guess it is open already.

well it is easy to say they are lame excuses, hypothetically, behind your keyboard, but you aren't trying to solve these problems yourself- so you probably don't really know what you are talking about do you? it is harder than it seems- it's not a case of "you can just re-home her with a nice family" or "ask the animal place for help" or "just get a house in bangkok where you can keep her" or "just spend the rest of your life in a little village full of violent, drug addicted losers so your dog will be happy". all of these things have proven to be impossible thus far. if you look back through my history you will see that i have actually posted about my situation with the dogs for over a year now, because i knew i would be moving on. it is my problem, but i have made every effort to solve it.

short of calling bangkok air and asking them if they can ship your dog.

you're right about that but someone had told me you can't fly dogs on BKK air... turns out they were wrong. thanks for the other suggestions (though the one big point you've missed is i don't have a place to keep her in BKK). i have a friend who has said he will drive out from krabi to get her soon and take back to his family's land. so hopefully that is the end of it.

..."just spend the rest of your life in a little village full of violent, drug addicted losers so your dog will be happy".

GirlX, while I don't wish to be involved in your private affairs, I'm curious as to what attracted you to (I assume) Thong Nai Pan in the first place. How did you manage to attract such poor company, what kept you there for so long, and why couldn't you find a more livable place in KPG?

Years ago I knew a female friend from Belgium, who lived with her young daughter for over a year near Chaloklum. It's true that she didn't have an easy time with the village gossipers there, but I don't recall her having any association at all with "violent, drug addicted losers".

Ask any locals Jose, TNP does have a bad reputation, mainly because it was so difficult to get to for many years that it has maintained it's own forms of local justice - the police left it alone. Also it has been a haven for people escaping the Thai justice system and staying their 30 years hidden away (after that all charges get dropped).

That is not to say though that there are not some lovely people living there and to be honest the majority of people live their lives there hassle free. Girlx unfortunately (through no fault of her own) had her life entangled with a certain nasty piece of work who made her life very difficult. He is a power freak who enjoys choosing a target to prove his very minimal, local power to. She had a bad experience, most people who live there get a long fine but EVERYONE will have a story or two to tell you...

This is all changing now though, with 3 5 star hotels now on the beach, the police have stepped up their presence both in the villages and on the roads to and from it. I do think this reputation of KP as a crazy drug fuelled place does get rather overstated though. I think there were many more drugs being done in my small area of London than there are being done in KP. It is certainly much harder to be a drugs carrier or a drugs taker on this island than it would be at home. I have never once been stopped and checked in the UK. A month ago I was stopped 5 times in one week! And the penalties are a lot harsher.

really? i have lived all over the US and with the exception of San Francisco, which had a huge problem with crack etc., I never saw so many drugs around in the states as I did in TNP, though it was mostly concentrated in the hands of one family (said power tripper in the last post being one of them). you're right though that for the most part it is more difficult to transport etc. on the island. but the police are very selective about who they bust. mostly they are paid off or they are too scared of "local justice" to get to involved! i do hope it changes there and the riff raff get pushed out.

being very softhearted when it comes to animals, i became sort of the local animal care place for thong nai pan yai (KPG) in the past few years. it is a thankless job. i probably took care of a few dozen animals in the time i was there, most of whom died horribly. the thais' approach (or lack of) to what is a serious problem on the island is nothing less than despicable. it amazes me how unmoved they are by the suffering of stray dogs especially, and that their only answer to the problem seems to be mass poisonings. very buddhist of them, yes.

in the end i had to abandon my pets as no one on the island in 2 years of asking would re-home them. even PAC would not (could not?) help. this is my problem, i realize, but i have never been one to stand by and watch suffering, and i do not regret giving 3 dogs a couple of great years in a loving home. unfortunately, it breaks my heart not knowing if they will starve to death or die of some horrible disease or poisoning. the odds are definitely against them.

the point of my post is, please contribute what you can. please donate to PAC so they might actually be good for something other than emergency treatment at some point. please spay the neighborhood dogs. please don't let them suffer any more than they have to- it's not so hard to throw out an occasional bone or a pat on the head or a deworming pill in a bit of meat. please stop being blind to this problem. dogs are more loving and loyal than people and should not be left to suffer.

have you never heard of quaranteen? if you love your dogs so much, put them into quanateen for 6 months and have them flown back to your home country - or I guess this is too expensive for you. Personally I hate it when non residents adopt animals for the duration of their stay and then moan about lack of compassion from the Thais when they are 'forced' to abandon their cute little pets to return to their cushy lifestyles in the west.

:o

whatever. some people can't seem to post without making personal attacks. definitely lessens your credibility when you have nothing else to contribute.

i no longer have a home in my country to send them to.

Stop feeling sorry for yourself and sort it out.

it has been sorted out already (see a few posts back), no thanks to most of the posters here. for those who did stay on topic and give advice, thank you.

SBK,I think you're a fair and just moderator, and I appreciate fully the constant flow of absolute drunken nonscence you have to edit, delete and best case, justify. This woman though (I know of her) is total twerp. Her post was pointless and was nothing more than an open complaint about the local folks at Thong Nai Pan Noi, a place I am also very familure with - and an invitation for conflict and rant. She broke Thai visa rules by posting negative comments about Thailand and has obviously done nothing to help her situation. I think you should give her a ticking off.

Incidentally (and I don't expect you to post this), the mushroom head farang girl organising and taking cash donations for the PAC sponsorship party to be held at Thong Nai Pan Yai next month is intending to cater for over 1000 guests with a 12' x 8' electric grill. By herself. This is going to end in tears....

Ha- you don't know me at all, I wasn't even talking about Thong Nai Pan Noi, I have already taken care of my situation so you obviously haven't read the whole thread, and you have been asked to stop insulting me as I am not the topic here.

I do agree with you about the "event of the year" going lopsided though. And that same mushroom head you talked about is the one who failed to take care of my dog too.

Hence, anyone who can find other ways of supporting PAC and anyone else who cares for animals on the island, is encouraged to do so.

Actually I need to retract that statement. I have been hearing loads of negative rumors, and I flew back yesterday to see in person what is going on. My dog was in fact being very well taken care of by this lady, as were several other animals including a tiny skeletal pupp who I was sure would die when I last saw it, but whom she has put on an IV for the past month and nursed back to brilliant health.

As for her event, as I said in another thread, she reaches very high and it comes off as crazy, but if you don't reach for the sky you will never get it! So the event may not turn out as well as she hopes, but she will definitely in the long run achieve some of her goals through it, and those goals are very beneficial for the whole community.
