Cheapest Way To Get 60 Day Tourist Visa?

Featured Replies

I'd like to know how did you get your tourist visa while living in Thailand? Did you go to Laos all by yourself or use services like this:

How much it did cost total? It seems 12 000 baht is cheapest offer this far...

I have to do a tourist visa run from Pattaya this month. It seems to be much cheaper to apply for double-entry tourist visa in one of the embassies abroad than obtaining another one year education visa (35K for the school+1900 baht every three month+the costs of still needing to go to one of the embassies!).

Vientiane is by far the cheapest. You could probably do a run on your own for less than 8,000 baht.

Another option you might conider is a multiple entry non-o (15 months) to visit friends from Perth Australia. For a year if you were to figure in 2 visa runs, 2 border runs, and 4 extensions it might look good cost wise. Plus all the time spent doing them.

What about the option of Phnom Penh via Poipet?

There are companies offering the visa run for 9,500 (less if you're SE Asian) from Pattaya and all you have to do is take a 3 1/2 hour minivan trip to Poipet and relax in a hotel for 2 nights while the agent travels to Phnom Penh to get the double entry tourist visa for you.

IMO this beats Vientiane hands down, no contest.

Less travel time even if you fly. No queuing up at the consulate, twice. The price is cheaper than doing a flying visa run to Vientiane via Udon.

If this option is still available in May, I'll be doing it.

If you're really game and don't mind taking the road to Phnom Penh you could do this run yourself even cheaper.

Could you name one or more of those companies or are those generally available in most visa run joints?

Most of the local visa run agents book people for the same runs so you'll probably find they can all arrange it for you although prices may vary. My agent does it for 9,500. That's includes your own private room at a casino hotel in Poipet for 2 nights. If two can share the same room in Poipet that'll knock 500 off the price.

Cambodia Inter at 261/5 Soi Buakhao. 038 723060

(This number is offered for information purposes only. I don't get any commission. I've been using this agent for 3 years)

Thanks Tropo.

I won't delete the info.

When I read your nick it comes to mind as meaning rag in Spanish (Venezuela). :o

I wasn't aware of that. In my case it's Australian for "gone tropical" and helps to explain any associated mental instability... as if Mr. Bean wasn't enough. :D
