Boon Mee's Political Challenge

Featured Replies

This is a little game for our friend Boon Mee, with which the rest of us unpolitical types might learn from the wisdom of those who practice this odd form of entertainment. We can also learn more about the truth behind these political games.

Here is how it works. We offer up a subject for Boon. Then Boon finds a link for us that gives us the opinion of the well informed conservative American.

Like this, I say Cheese!!

Boon gives us a link to a conservative culinary website that states that the only way too go for ones cheese needs is good ole classic American cheese, and that someone who consumes anything else is a bleeding heart, hippy, pansy, godless, terrorist sympathizer.

So, it's real easy to play and we can all learn something while playing. So, let's get started!!

First topic is.......tampons!!

Go, Boon, Go!!!!

How about hin just replying to questions from myself, endure and cdnvic from the socialised medicine thread ... the master(de)bater goes silent yet again ... :o

Awwwlright. You TV Mother Theresas. I like Boon Mee because he takes the conservative side and defends it. I'm a conservative, too, when the dust settles, but that does not mean I agree with all policies, and quit lumping us together with Busholotics.

I just read in Scientific American that Conservatives are the largest donors to charity. Liberals just wanna give away other people's tax dollars.

You lefties just like to have a go at anybody that's not in your camp.

So, hit me with your best shot.

Interesting. The third time you use the word conservative you capitalise it so it takes

a while for the word to get your juices flowing. Liberal on the other hand is capitalised

instantly. This suggests to me that you are a closet liberal wearing conservative

apparel. Lefties seem to provoke no arousal whatsoever , but that may be the folk

myth that they are all unwashed.

American political terminology can be confusing. In Europe centrists are regarded

as liberals , the wings are not. Is it true that Democrats believe in democracy and

Republicans don't. Answer that one on the back of a postage stamp would you.

I don't dislike Boon Mee and am often amused by his posts (and I am not just

referring to his offerings in the jokes section which could provide a quality guide

to ill-shaven Australians) but I rarely see him come back to defend his little

provocations.

I find total dedication to any one political camp as blind and limiting as having

to refer to a bible/koran/torah etc to answer any question.

I have had many an illuminating conversation with people who's views I do

not share (racists , provo supporters , misogynists , neo-cons , etc etc etc)

and managed to stop my knee from jerking long enough to get an insight

into their thought processes.

I have highlighted one line in your post , because it made me think of one

of GWB's finest remarks "You are either with us or against us". This not to

start another polemic , just to suggest that the cap fits many heads.

"Free size" as the market stall girl says when you are looking for a T-shirt

less than tent sized.

Nice post Homer ... and I would like to echo your sentiments particularly the highlighted sentence. :D

Well, I'm a true blue card carrying conservative, veteran of 9 election campaigns, with hundreds if not thousands of hours spent fighting for sometimes a lost cause in some years. I think I have my conservative credentials in order.

That said, being a conservative should never mean swallowing all the bullsh1t fed to you by other so-called conservatives just because they are "our side". Every party has it's lemmings who simply follow the party line regardless of what it is. I'm not one of them. The day I surrender my independence of thought and become one of the bootlicks who refuse to critcise their leaders when they are wrong I become a useless drone. No good to my party, my country, or my own concience.

If I look at the conservative leaders of the past whom I've admired, MacDonald, Churchill, Stanfield, Roblin, Filmon, none of them have been party lackeys. They had the courage to speak their own mind, and didn't check to see if it was following the party line first.

The parrots that just keep repeating the party line and admitting no wrong on the part of "their side" are usually just nobodys with little ideas of their own, and if I too am insignificant I can at least model my way of thinking after a hero, rather than a nobody.

Hey, punkwat spikemongering friend. Third c was a capitalist typo. It's allowed. The liberal word was at the start of a sentence; hence, capitalised. Wanna go for a pee pow little flake spitting match, brother? Tent size tshirt too small too fit round yer liberal gut? Guess you don't fit in with us.

There's very little difference between sides these days, the left is the new right or should that be the other way around.

Politicians are mostly too afraid of losing there position to think let alone speak outside the box and there a very few mavericks in politics today.

The wholesale statment 'you're either with us or you're against us' is the mantra of the modern day thought police, worn as a badge of identity by those with most to lose from rational discussion.

Well that's a relief snakehead. I was beginning to think you'd gone so far over

to the dark side that you'd adopted Boon Mee's shit and run tactics.

About the the liberal thing. The more you fight it the more psychological damage

you risk doing to yourself.

Just for information. I have no gut (in the sense you use the term) and I certainly

wouldn't want it to be liberal if I had one.

T-shirt reminds me of when Air France provided me with an emergency overnight

kit after leaving my luggage behind at Paris. I did complain because it included a

very large t-shirt and a rather small condom.

:o

PS Consider a protective covering for your buttons , they're just too easy to push.

PPS Is the gibberish really necessary. It's causing my spell checker to overheat.

This is great. I didn't know the thread would evolve into this. This is why I like Bedlam.

So, should we continue in our attempts to define left and right?

This is a boring fact and I'm only sharing it with you to piss off the neo-cons.

The terms "Left" and "Right" come from the seating arrangements in the French

Assemblee.

It amuses me that the people who hated the French so much they invented

"freedom fries" use a French political reference in their rhetoric.

:o

PS I'm worried about Jet. All I've seen from her is gibberish.

Hope Boon Mee didn't bite her.

To paraphrase Winston Churchill..."If you're not a bleeding-heart, liberal, moonbat when you're 18 you have no heart and if you're not a conservative when you're 40, you have no head."

Must be a load a 18 year olds 'round here... :o

You're right, because you have not given us any. :D

So, should we continue in our attempts to define left and right?

Didn't yer little commie pal the great Moronski ... er... Robski ... just say they were one in the same?

"There's very little difference between sides these days ..."

There's very little difference between America and France these days.

There's very little difference between America and Cuba these days.

There's very little difference between Ahmedinijad and Ohmert these days.

There's very little difference between the Pope and the Moktada Al-Sadr these days.

There's very little difference between George Bush and Hillary Clinton these days.

There's very little difference between Rush Limbaugh and Dan Rather these days.

Yeah ... right .... what lame-o bullsh*t!!

I don't see 100% eye to eye with everything Boon & Brit have to say, but I have no problem in saying I have a lot more in common with their views than with yours'.

That really got to the heart of the arguement there, the way you disassembled the opposition's ideas, and presented counterpoints to their claims to back your view....... oh wait it was just another of Boon Mee's lightweight glib remarks with no insight.

Nevermind :D

Defines the situation in a nutshell tho, don't it? :D

Sometimes, brevity cuts through all the BS, eh?

...and sometimes it just shows that the author couldn't think of anything more insightful to say. :o
