Just do a wire transfer. Have the money converted to U.S. dollars by the Thai bank - don't rely on your U.S. bank to make the conversion or you'll get screwed on the exchange rate. It'll also let you know the exact dollar amount that should show up in your U.S. account.

Have your house sales receipt ready to show the bank, in case they want to know where you got the money.
