Here's my brief report:
-
Here is a brief review owing since over a month.
This new Tune Hotel is better than the Malaysian ones in interior design since the toilet door has a lock and the lower part is not visible directly from the room but the worst thing is the noise from the nearby club that stays on until 3 am every night. Over 75% of the rooms will get the noise.
The window is "cheating". You can open for 2 inches only so don't rely on it for ventilation. The extra air-condition fees cannot be saved. The staffs said it's to prevent people from jumping down.
The air-condition is preset at 25 degrees C and you cannot lower it. I don't understand why, so did the staffs.
The new paint smell is very strong and horrible !! I am sure it's harmful too.
I booked early with a promotion rate but found later there is a better promotion rate offered later for the same days of my stay. Felt unfair to me.

Thank you. The gold leaf is a good idea. I thought it's meant for temple use only.

wana's girlfriend is so lucky.

Looks like another singer is going to live shorter than the average.
Maria Callas, Elvis Presley, MJ, and more from Hong Kong and Taiwan.

It's all part of politics. U.S. will not like an influencial Indian actor to lecture or influence their people; so give him some delays and difficulties.
Now I am sure American actors will be relunctant to enter India. The first one to do so may get the same treatment.

Hard for me to figure if all the posts above are correct or some are just joking
How could I see the statue to clean it if I have to keep my head lower that it's feet, a real challenging feat.
-
Thank you but what about my 2nd question ?
-
I have a few Buddha metal statues(not sure bronze or what metal, bought from Sukhothai years ago) between 6" to 12" already very dusty and dirty. Thinking of cleaning them today, what do you use to clean them ?
-
Thanks all but not sure if the soup is from blood but definetely no pig blood chunks(I know Chinese eat this) is served.
I think tropo got it right.
I seldom see this noodle in Pattaya. Only once I came across it somewhere in or near Walking Street but getting a seat there is difficult and I havae forgotten the place.
In case you know Bangkok well, there is a stall at Suriwongse Road side just near the entrance to the Night Market that link to Silom. Sell only at night. Near to a few cafes.
You always see alot of small chicken feet which you need to pay extra to order; otherwise only a piece of drumstick comes with the noodle soup. Nothiong else will be in it, not even green vegetables of any kind. I am sure Thais know this noodle.
-
I think locals or street food regulars will know this noodle easily. They are usually sold at night, soup is dark and always come with chicken thigh & legs, no other part of the chicken.
Anyone know where are the good ones ?
-
I find from map that Jomtien is a very long road, longer than Pattaya North to Walking Street end. Will like to explore this street but which part of it is the best part with more choices of a/c cafes to rest my legs ?

Thank you. I will.I thought the city buses were discontinued long time ago. Maybe the floating market have a dedicated bus, I don't know.
Yes Phil, it's a dedicated Floating Market bus.
As for the white songthaews OP you can get them to stop anywhere, just hold out your arm horizontally and flap your hand up and down and they stop to pick you up.
To get off there is a buzzer inside to push when you get to your destination.
Suggest you get a white bus there and the red bus back and then you can post the route.
-
Thank you. I did try but can't see them, maybe did not zoom close enough. They should show in the same scale as the train stations. As far as I know they don't show the actual routes but they show the stops using little icons. Look close and they have the icons for bus, mrt and bts stops ... they come up when you are zoomed in at a certain level.
-
Yes, this thread will be very useful for blind travelers in future Thank you very much but one last question on taking these buses. Can I stop them to get on board anywhere along or must I get in at desidnated stops.
Thank you. See your link but the same page also mentioned the Red Bus has not been seen for some time; and wonder when was that posted ? If only every web pages show a date. Here is a link to it on some website (http://www.pattayago...com/pattbus.htm), but I really don't know if these Buses still run. If you're adventures you can take a white Baht bus on Sukhumvit, they will pass the Floating Market.
What is a "white Baht bus" ?
I saw the Red bus yesterday with all the Floating Market pictures/logos on so it is still running (perhaps bought by the floating market company?) but no idea of the routes?
A white baht bus is the same as a blue baht bus ...except it is white!! The white ones operate on Sukhumvit and are very cheap, they go all the way to Sattahip, if you stand on the south bound side of Sukhumvit for example at Pattaya Klang junction, 10 baht will take you to Floating market.
As you head south look for the landmarks in this order... Big C, Homeworks, Tesco, Makro, Underwater world, traffic lights at Watboon, Kanyong, Traffic lights at Chaiyapruek (big junction), PTT and you are there - cant miss it!!!!
But i must say....you have been given so many links, directions and maps on this subject, even a blind man could find it!!

No, I won't give up. With so many islands and beaches, I am sure I can find a remote beach on my own....
Good idea. I thought of that too but will it still be considered an offence legally ? Covered with something is not considered nude or naked ?Gotta love the guys quoting the rule books huh?
Seriously. I doubt anyone here has any recommendations. Most everyone here is married to a Thai, therefor usually wear jeans and a shirt at the beach.
I think you'll just have to get out and go walking. Shouldn't have to go far.
I wouldn't make a deal out of it. Just cover up with a towel if someone approaches.
I don't want to risk it. Thailand is too good to be missed
See now your splitting hairs and pointedly asking me if something is illegal. It is. You knew that already.
Now your saying it isn't worth it. Your right. Keep your pants on.

I find the railway stations for Airport Link in google map but not the BTS or MRT stations, is there a way to find them ?
I am trying to check how far is it from the Cultural Center Station to Ramkhamheang Station.
-
I have visited most places along the BTS and looking for new places to visit and since I will stay at Ramkhamheang and read somewhere that they are close to each other.
Yes, thats how I know that name but never been there, have you been there ? What's there to see and any other interesting places nearby ?Thailand Cultural Center is a stop on the Subway that lets you off right in front of the Center.
I live near there but have never been there. I really don't think there is anything to see there unless they have an event happening.
Are you looking for something to see or do with only limited time? If so, what are you into? If you are on the subway then consider yourself also on the Skytrain ... there are lots of things to see and do within easy walking distance from either of these services but Thailand Cultural Center I don't believe is one of them.
-
Ok, too bad I cannot make edit to the OP. I should just ask for a remote beach.

Ok, as long as it is white in colour, hot it, may I know how much is the fare ?I agree that it is the biggest farce going and really all it is is the same shops you see all over Pattaya just built on wooden stilts in a mosquito infested rubbish lake.
However if you really want to see it then every WHITE songteaw on Sukhumvit is strictly just that, a sukhumvit songteaw and they travel all down frm North of Pattaya to almost Rayong. Just flag one down.

How ? You mean he planted something or said something that will cause the custom security people to delay or detain him for sometime ?
