  1. That sounds good as I did want to get a full health check up. It's been 15+ years. It looks like they will pay about 11k THB towards the colonoscopy which is OK, I guess. The PB hospital had a colonoscopy special running for around 16K, which is exactly the same price I paid there 10 years ago when I had the last one done. I thought that was a very good price. The special may be over now The regular price is about 22K, or so.
  2. I didn't use any broker. I bought my insurance directly from the Cigna website. Very quick and easy to do. I had an issue because my Krungsri Visa card had a 100,000K limit...I should have immediately changed the billing card to Kasikorn which carries a much higher limit but I didn't want to 'rock-the-boat' and let the Krungsri card be the one for payments...Paying in full would have given me a 10% discount. To leave things alone, I settled for quarterly payments giving me a 3% discount. Not such a big deal either way.
  3. Now I see why the selling agent gave me this free 'Health and Wellbeing'....It's basically useless and worthless.
  4. Yes, that's why I bought it. I also liked the idea of not having to show a lot of cash before they will work on you. I don't want to be sick or hurt badly and have to talk about up front payments although my Thai lady could have done this for me. I could have lowered my premium down 30-40% by taking higher deductibles. They did offer a inside Thailand only policy which I thought would be great for me. It was about $4500 UDS yearly, much cheaper BUT it did Not include a private room so that was an immediate no-go for me. Also the coverage was 250k/500k, which is probable enough but I really didn't understand what the 2 levels of coverage were. The shared room was the main reason I didn't go for it. I don't really plan on traveling so I don't need worldwide coverage. I believe they will only cover me for 21 days in the USA as I didn't but that extra add-on policy. It's hard to decide what's the right insurance to buy.
  5. If anyone is interested, I paid 25K THB monthly but it will get lowered by 3% as I am switching to quarterly payments. I have zero deductible-zero co-pay. I have no exclusions and I didn't have to take any physical exams. They only asked me a few questions. I got the 3 covid shots when the Thai govt. was giving them out. I think I had covid a few times. I didn't test every time I got sick but one time I tested positive for covid. I never went to the hospitals for covid and never took any covid meds. I just rode it out. On a side note, my long time live with Thai lady(38)never got any covid shots and she is never sick. She even eats raw beef and other things I think are crazy/risky. She will leave food out unrefrigerated for many hours and still never gets sick. Her immune system works great.
  6. Thank you for your input. I will forget about this idea and save myself time, money, and potentially further unnecessary testing. I truly appreciate your advice. If you want to, go ahead and close this thread as I am convinced that theses scans are not necessary now. Thanks again for you help.
  7. Thanks again for your help and info. I am definitely getting disappointed by this lack of coverage. Maybe buying this Insurance was a bad idea and I should just 'self-insure' as I have always had...I thought they would want to cover things that are not costly and their purpose is to keep you healthy. I just called to hospital to see what the next steps are and the Insurance lady was out to lunch and will be calling me back to explain what is covered. I am Not liking the sound of this whole thing already.
  8. I hope a routine colonoscopy will be covered.
  9. I started getting some pains in the back-side area. I was guessing it might be a kidney infection. I had a box of Zithromax at home and took those for a week . Maybe the antibiotics cured me or my body fought it off. Hard to say but I feel fine now for several days. All pains went away and my body temp. have been normal ever since. Everything is back to normal for me and I have been going to the gym and walking again. I don't recommend that anyone do as I did...Better to see a doctor... It was a scare that lead me to buy Cigna Health Insurance. So that's a good thing as now I will be more likely to seek medical advice as I like to use the insurance I paid for...Yes, I am a little crazy about things.....
  10. I wonder if it is worth the time and costs(taxis) to go to Bangkok. I am lazy and not so concerned about costs. Convenience is #1 for me. If Pattaya Bangkok doesn't have the proper vaccines then I have no other choice. Thanks again for all of your help.
  11. I didn't select anything extra but there was an issue with the payment using my Thai debit card and the selling agent said she would give me the 'Health and Wellbeing' for free....Here is my coverage: Your plan includes: Annual benefit limit: USD 1,000,000.00 WorldWide Excluding USA Health & Wellbeing Benefits International Health and Wellbeing
  12. Excellent advise, as always. I really appreciate your complete and detailed answers. I recently bought Cigna Intl. insurance with zero deductible and zero co-pay so now I need to contact the Pattaya Bangkok Hospital and find out exactly what the steps are to get these vaccines done under my 1 million USD coverage. I have never had any insurance here before so I'm not familiar with the claims procedures. They are not so close to me so I hope they can advise me over the phone But I am guessing they might just tell me to come in first to confirm my coverage ?
  13. I was reading an article about full body MRI scans from https://prenuvo.com/...The detailed report given sounded very professional. Has anyone had one done ? Other than the cost involved, is this a good thing to do for a 70 year old man in decent health ? Is this available in Thailand ? From the article " The Prenuvo scans test for hundreds of conditions, but the most important things they test for are conditions that are life threatening, such as cancer, aneurysms, and heart issues." " "Are MRI body scans good or bad? Medical experts are divided on this issue. The American College of Preventive Medicine says MRI body scanning is a waste of money. Other health experts argue that many healthy people who get these scans will get expensive follow-up imaging tests and possibly more invasive tests that will probably reveal they’re healthy. They also say many people who get these scans will experience a lot of anxiety and mental stress while waiting for the results." Thanks for any info or opinions.
  14. Thanks. I'm not sure if you're be sarcastic or not. You might be right but I don't think I would go for the rabies shot or yellow fever.
  15. I want to get current on all the required vaccines. I am a 70 year old man in good health. Last year, against the doctors recommendation, I insisted on getting the pneumonia 23 vaccine instead of the #13 thinking it was newer, better, and covered more viruses. I know foolish. The doctor said to come back in 1 year and get the #13. Good idea ? I also want to get the Zoster-shingles vaccine. It's been 15 years since my last tetanus booster. I also was considering the flu shot and possible a covid -19 vaccine ??? I had the Hep. A + B in 2009 so I don't know if I need a booster on those ? I was reading about a RSV vaccine, don't know if it's a good thing. Also a 'Chikungunya vaccine ?? Generally speaking it is better to get vaccines one at a time or can you safely get 2 on the same day ?? Thanks for any help or info. Please don't respond if you are an anti-vax believer.
  16. Thanks for the info. The Thai girl lives with me in a rental house in my name. The electric is in the house owners name. The only bill in her name in the TRUE internet. I don't know if that would be OK so that's why I was wondering if an agent can work their magic. She has lived in Pattaya for 12 years but there is no way to prove that.
  17. There were some threads on moving a Thai girls address or house book from her village to Pattaya to be eligible under the 30 baht scheme. It didn't sound so easy and maybe the landlord would need to be involved. My question: is this something an agent could do for a fee ? Has anyone used a Pattaya agent and had the Thai girls registration changed so she could use Pattaya area hospitals ?? Thanks for any info.
  18. Thank you for the very detailed and complete reply. Very appreciated !
  19. At what age does Thailand recommend being checked as normal health care for 40 year old lady with no problems ? If not covered, what Pattaya area hospitals are good for Thais? Any idea on general prices ? Thanks for any info.
  20. Thank you Very much for this link. I didn't see this before. Excellent info. Thank you
  21. I agree with that king of thinking and that's why I don't go near hospitals unless I have to. Bottom line is that hospitals are Full of sick people carrying who-knows-what. That is the nature of hospitals.
  22. Thanks. I took a quick look at my calendars and Yes, I have had 2 episodes this month(June 11-14, 2024)+(June 27-30, 2024)and 1 episode on April 8-13, 2024. I did not see anything on last years calendars(2023) at all. I usually do mark things down. For the year 2022, I had Covid on Sept 24-28, 2022. For the past 20 hours I totally stopped the fever reducing meds. I definitely slept better and was more well rested in the morning even still having 37.5 this morning. I think with previous fevers I was using the tylenol and Ibuprofen too much thinking I was doing good when actually I was slowing my recovery. I have an appt scheduled on Tuesday. Should I mention your name ? Thanks for all of your help.
  23. I was speaking to a lifelong friend, not a doctor but generally a Very smart man. He observed That I may be Googling too much and looking for problems that might not even be there. He commented that while I had fever a few weeks ago, my body did fight it off and I was OK for a few weeks after that. Nothing unusual there and I never covid tested. Now to have fever again 2 weeks later , that is unusual. I should have tested for covid but didn't. At least, that would be eliminated. He calls me a 'professional shopper' as I go out everyday and go to many places. I am in crowded Thai markets 4X a week. I am always going to 7/11, Lotus, Big-C, big Tessco, Makro, and the gym. I like to get out and see people. He suggested that I may of just had a bit of 'Bad Luck' by catching a 'bug' 2 times in one month. He reminded me that when we were young with kids, we put them in the pre-K schools. They would be sick often and sometimes be on antibiotics 1x-2x a month. He suggested that I get better now and if it happens again to immediately get the covid test. He said that I could wear a mask in those crowded Thai markets. I never wore any mask even during covid times. To comply with covid store rules I would wear a mask very loosely, which I know offers no protection. When I mentioned going to Pattaya Bangkok Hospital, his comments were varied. He agreed that is it the best Pattaya hospital but being a private hospital they tend to order up a lot of tests and medications. It's hard or impossible to know if the tests/meds are truly necessary or they want to get your bill up. He told me that if I come there with No other symptoms, I am giving them carte blanche to order anything they want. I am not concerned about the money but I don't want to be told to get scans, x rays and more without the doctor giving me some concrete reasons for why they feel these tests are necessary. Not a big fan of the trial and error method testing and diagnostics. I understand that many time this is the only way To sum things up : Getting Old Sucks !!! Strongly recommend that you avoid it.. lol
  24. Thanks. I think there is almost zero of an SDI. After checking the major, most common Chlamydia symptom, none of then apply to me. Same with gonorrhoea symptoms. Just don't have any of them. Thanks
  25. I am in the process of booking an appointment with : https://bangkokpattayahospital.com/doctor/siriporn-srirojanakul-m/ ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Some posters suggested chlamydia is a possibility. Do you think I should go to LifeCare and get tested before I see the doctor ? They also offered some type of covid test. Should I just go to this doctor and explain my issues and let her order whatever tests are needed. I am looking for easy, not cost saving. Thank you for your help. I appreciate all the posters offering suggestions.
