  1. It seems to me that the rider on the main road DID hit the other bike, albeit just a touch of their front wheels. But the police have made their decision so that's that. BTW, the "unlicenced schoolgirl" then compounds her bad riding by leaving her bike stationary in the middle of the road rather than pulling to the side in the clearly marked shoulder of the road. But she at least had the decency not to drive away without checking on her victim.
  2. What the hell is the lorry driver supposed to do when an idiot on a bike drives straight under his back wheels? Surely no blame for the lorry driver.
  3. DWP don't quote an e-mail address. Go to ...... https://www.gov.uk/international-pension-centre Scroll down on that page a little to just underneath the bold 'Online' heading and you'll see 'online enquiry form'. Click and you'll see the form for you to fill in with your question. However, a phone call would be MUCH, MUCH faster - replies to these forms can take weeks sometimes whereas the response to a phone call can be immediate. Don't you have somebody that can make the call for you while you're there in the background to answer questions via your helper? Telephone: +44 191 218 7777 Monday to Friday, 8am to 6pm.
  4. Thanks for that. Can't be expected to know that if no messages are forthcoming. Still a while to wait then.
  5. Now 2 weeks past the supposed 'deadline' and still no message from Bangkok Bank to my mBanking app. nor freezing of the mBanking service. Phone is in my wife's name. I read in one of the threads on this subject here that as long as family name and address match there'll be no problem - it seems JohnnyBD's info above is correct ... so far. Of course, it might change somewhere down the line. Like Connda, I'll just continue until something changes. Getting the SIM changed to my name is no problem at all.
  6. Check this thread from earlier this year:-
  7. I really enjoy cycling. No great distances or speeds, just leisurely trips on back roads in the local countryside. I've got very pale skin and auburn hair and have recently been diagnosed with a skin cancer on my face and don't want my bike trips to be cut short in an effort to reduce exposure to sunlight. Does anybody have any recommendations of a semi-rigid, breathable cycling mask to cover nose and mouth? Head and neck protection is easier and I've been using one of the hat/face mask combos that people wear in the fields but don't find it very practical. Thanks.
  8. Never mind a Thai visitor from the other end of the country, how about a Thai national who lives permanently overseas and only visits for a few weeks every couple of years? Reduced rate for Thai? No problem.
  9. Yes, a reminder of my lovely 239 Desmo from years ago. Sadly missed.
  10. A Belgian Mustafa is the same as an English Mustafa is the same as ...........
  11. I said I don't know any, in response to your 'don't know'. That's not the same as 'don't know of .. '. No rock involved, just many years living out in the open in UK with biking friends who might be expected to be tattooed but weren't, before Thailand. EDIT - thinking again, I do know one bloke with many tats - although maybe not full body - here in Thailand and he's a very nice, calm, caring fella but among UK friends and acquaintances, none at all.
  12. Russian(?) is the language spoken by the bloke recording the video, who is just another unconnected customer in the shop, not the nutter.
  13. Strange. As a Briton, I don't know ANY Britons with tattoos as you describe.
  14. Mustafa ... muslim name. Only trashing alcoholic products. At 0.52 in the video, does he shout " ... allah ... "? I'll draw my own conclusions from all that.
  15. Whip scorpion or vinegaroon. Harmless. Called 'vinegaroon' because it sprays a vinegar-like fluid as protection. Just let them go on their way if you see them in the future.
  16. Well, there's a first!! After sending my Life Cert. and seeing it was delivered on 10th. April, I got an SMS from DWP today saying "We have processed your Life Certificate. You do not need to contact us". No need for the usual check phonecall now. Good! Has anybody else received such a message? Is there a miniscule amount of modernisation afoot in DWP? Has their customer service upped its game a little?
  17. Do you have to have the last word even when there's nothing sensible to say? Reply to this and you CAN have the last word in our little conversation.
  18. As I've already said, my wife and those around me clearly say 'man' and I'll trust them over your video bird. Maybe a local variation but my money's on the pronunciation of those I know.
  19. I later edited to better show the sound of 'แ...' - 'mair' would be a better transcription, hence the comparison with 'แม', mother. No misunderstanding on my part, thank you.
  20. Not by my wife and others I know. What you've written would be MAIRn farang (as in แม่, mum, mother). Why write มัน... with a letter/vowel symbol for 'a' when there a a number of letters with a 'u' sound?
  21. As above, I don't need AI. I've got a better, real version (such as it is) installed upstairs. Does 365 Classic include Excel, Word and Outlook for e-mail and is it a trouble-free transition? If so, that's all I'd need. The MS blurb says it does but I thought I'd check with some real users.
  22. I might well be wrong but I've always understood that it was the act of HMRC ASSESSING all ones income that was important, whether or not they then actually demanded any payment. All my UK income, including that below £12,570, has been assessed for income tax and the relevant tax paid. It'll all become clear one day ........ or not. In the meantime, I won't lose any sleep over it.
  23. A wall that pops up on red light at crossings might do the trick.
  24. Good choice of last word there! Freudian slip? I'm sure we know what you meant, though.
