The "trick" in the USA when buying a car is to tell the dealership you are going to finance. You can recieve a much better deal. A dealership can and does
make more on the finance then the car in most cases.
So, tell them you are going to finance, get the best price then say, you know maybe I will pay cash.

It's totally crazy that the average Thai earns about 8000 baht a month, but they expect farangs to have pension incomes of 65,000 baht a month to live there.
if not for rules like this every old farang and his dog would be there. there defending there culture. as frustrating and strict as they are sometimes i can understand why they do it
DITTO!!!!!!!!! Post of the year!!!!!!!!

TheThe bring your Trek Madone with you. I have a 5.5 Madone and find time to ride it every week. I also have a mountain bike so it's nice to switch now and then.
A beach cruiser would be great for Pattaya Beach Road. Never enough bicycles.

Thanks Lancelot! I felt like a was there, a fine report...

"The BG's do appear rather unattractive"
From what I have heard they get better looking the longer you stay there.

"I was taken back just how seedy, dirty and squalid that area has become."

I got hit just a little bit today BB1955 form some little kids. Worth it watching them laugh.
Day 1 froze my tail off, coldest Songkron I ever remember. The ice water sure did not help.
Yes, the last day is the best. Jumped on my bicycle and rode a few times around the moat, ice water felt great .....I guess 3 days is enough but sure look forward to next year...
-
Nice, red/black with some fire...a beauty!

Still road my bicycle around and around the moat. Cold a heck with the ice water poured over you but all in the fun. Cold beer did not help to warm us up maybe should have drank coffee. Still fun but not that many people. Warmest part of the day was riding home. I want more people, some sun and cold beer today. This is my wish but I'll take what is giving.
-
Look great, can i ask how much a bike like that will cost?
With the price of the bike and all the mods, you would be looking at about 120,000 baht.
I just spent 150k baht for a custom race bicycle for my wife. 120k baht for this custom PCX seems like value compared to her bicycle....nice, very nice looking
PCX....

I still guarantee a hot week for Songkran!
I hope you are correct T_Dog, it makes those cold water spashes a little easier to take.
) Oh yes, the the beer tastes better too.

Come on Songkran!!!!!!!!!!

Growing up in LA I felt many...that was one for sure!!!! Live near CMU here in CM..

My wife and I were talking today about how we lived for 20 years in a house with no Aircon but had a house heater now we live in a house with Aircon and no house heater. 99% of the time we never needed aircon living on the shore of Southren California here in CM 99% of the time we do not need a heater, today is the 1% a heater would be fun to have. But still a sweater seems to be working fine.
-
Maybe songkran will be canceled??.......keep it comming
I don't think more water would hurt one of my favorite times of the year.....can't wait for Songkran myself.

Happy to have a new rain thread open. Please do not close it down.
This is a very nice long deep soaking rain. Like you all, love it. Smells great and sounds great.
What a welcome sight.

I thought Schwab didn't do foreign wire transfers. That is what the literature I have says.
I do a wire transfer from my CS account to my Bangkok Bank once a year. So they do them.
All I do is fax a filled out form, then call them or they call me and all is fine.
A few years back they charged me $25 for the wire but I've got that waved now.
I do have there Dcard but I use my Bangkok card instead.
CS is one fine company to work with.

the cbr150 of course. Everyone knows that scooters are for girls.
Hand me a skirt too. Love my nouvo elegance. I had a big bike before but it was hard in traffic. This one is great.
I knew there was something I liked about you robblok besides you being Dutch.....nouvo elegance...I love mine too. Had her 2 years, flawless. coming up on 25k and I understand it's best to change the belt. Great little bike. Under the seat I can fit a small sack of pototoes and 6 T-bones.
)
Need to find a skirt too.

The disappointment to me was that the size of the salads started shrinking and the dressings started becoming hit or miss (sometimes good, sometimes mediocre)after they had been open less than a year. Other than that, I've enjoyed my eating experiences there most of the time.
The best (and last) salad I ate there was with you Venturalaw and I could not finish it. So, no price increase just smaller portions, may work.
