Thanks for the report. It explains a lot. So the government won't go bankrupt if we all up sticks and leave? I always find it difficult to estimate the size of crowds.....72,000 retirees is near the capacity at Old Trafford. I just wonder how it is they they all turn up at immigration to tend they stay on the same day as me. 🙂

The term Christian is misused almost all of the time. Personally I believe in Jesus' teachings but I abhor organised religion of any sort. The Sermon on the mount is the peak of morals and ethics for me. But Jesus came to sweep away the Old Testament and its 10 commandments. But todays' American Christians know nothing of Jesus' teachings, and are fed the Jewish version ie the Old Testament a Vengeful Good and a vengeful way of life. They value warmongering and 'nuking' 'em' policies. So what this really means is 'Jewish nationalist agenda' and is nothing about 'Christian nationalism' or 'Christian values'. There is no escaping this, because the words right out of Jesus' mouth were 'blessed are the peacemakers' not "blessed are the warmakers and the Military Industrial Complex for they shall make money"

Thailand caught in a cycle of low GDP growth and high household debt
retarius replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
I can't believe you seem to think Prayut did well? I see Prayut had 3 years of growth 2017 to 2019 after 3 years of flatlining. We then have tiny fluctuations for the past 4 years, basically flatlining.....3 decent growth years out of 10 at the helm is a pretty miserable performance, in my book. He mismanaged the COVID response so these past 4 years lie at his door. Yingluck had 3 good growth years out of 3. -
Thailand caught in a cycle of low GDP growth and high household debt
retarius replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
100% agree. Prayut turned Thailand into a low GDP growth country with significantly higher government debt/GDP ratio. I think the rot set in well before his disastrous COVID management, although the 2008 finical crisis will have distorted some of the per-coup numbers. But basically, I think, junta's don't run economies very well. -

I have neuropathic pain and itching and take pregabalin 150mg twice a day and duloxetine 30mg twice a day....I have good control over the pain and itching in warmer weather. I'd look at upping the dose and possibly switching to duloxetine that has a neuropathic pain indication from the US FDA. The origin of my pain is diabetes which attacks distal nerves. Yours is in the neck and elbow which are not distal and so the origin of your itch will likely be different. Perhaps a blood supply issue in the affected areas? My pain started as an itch and got progressively worse over a couple of years until the symptoms became violent shooting pains. I would have it diagnosed in a pain clinic if I were you.

The Investing Year Ahead
retarius replied to Mike Lister's topic in Jobs, Economy, Banking, Business, Investments
Intersting....I'm always interested about real vs nominal GDP. Eyeballing the numbers, the GDP growth rates here seem to be based on the real GDP growth. Often it is never stated and I think since GDP growth figures are released long before inflation numbers are known, that GDP growth is often based on nominal growth. \Do you know if this list true? You can see the impact of war (WW2) on the the GDP growth...staggering. Maybe that's also the reason for US's current favourable (vs other G7 countries) GDP growth. -

One wonders why Yarit, having had a confrontation with Komen earlier about the rats, chose to use that repair shop instead of the hundreds of others in Korat? -

Maybe I'm missing something here, but how is Thaksin involved? Is he supposed to have ordered the abduction from Dubai? And why not ask the police instead of Thaksin, why they did not investigate (not that they can go to Cambodia and investigate without permission from the Cambodian government)? In 2018 the junta were in charge, why doesn't;t she ask Prayut?
