Hope it works. It would be nice to have a decent taxi service. Tuk-tuks are vile and dirty and should be scrapped immediately. They are not in any way picturesque, they are simply uncomnfoprtalber dangerous and smelly driven by mad men. Raise the fares in regular air-conditioned taxis, taxi drivers deserve a fairer deal for doing a tough job, but jail any driver who doesn't use a meter or has tampered with it. What I would like to see is the meter wired into the ignition, so that if the meter isn't running the ignition doesn't work, (but of course you would also need sensors in all the seats to ensure there were no passengers, and then the ignition would work without the meter.

Palestine is occupied by Israelis. The Palestinians have a legitimate right to attack and over thrown the occupiers of their land. You can quibble about attacking unarmed citizens, and say that Hamas should have attacked the IDF, but Israelis have shown no restraint in killing tens of thousands off innocent civilians including some today. Also this is an asymmetric war, a nuclear armed state vs some guys with guns, they do what they have to.....but if you claim to have the moral high ground, to be a democracy and definitely not an apartheid state, then don't kill teens of thousands of unarmed innocent civilians because you want to steal even more of their land.

I had this recently, about 6 months back, our 3rd car broke down. Oil mixing with coolant. Cylinder head warped. I was told I needed a new (scrap....recon) engine. We had two quotes one for 60K and one for 50K. Our car was not used much and didn't have many miles on it, and was only used for ferrying the wife's sister who lives with us back and forth to see her mum. The car is 10 or 11 years old with about 50K miles on the clock (80K kms), so it was very early to have such a catastrophic failure, but then again it's a Ford and a poor quality build in my opinion. Anyway, I shelled out the 50K for the repair.....but I got a lot of things I didn't expect.....1) I had a 1600 engine, the repairer put in a 1300 or 1200 replacement, 2) I now have no odometer, 3) I now have no VIN numbers, they have all been filed off and so the car is basically illegal and 4) the repair took about 3 months. If you ask me if I would have the repair done again, the answer is no, I would just scrap the car.

I think given the level of hygiene here in Thailand and the nature of street and market food the incidence of tummy upsets is really very low. It seems that most folk eat market food or street food a few times a week. It's not like Mexico or India where you only have to breathe the air to get "Delhi belly".

I've never cared for Abbas. He has sold the Palestinian people down the river. Where are his actions against the ever increasing number of settlements with the recent announcement of 3000 new homes for Israelis to be built of stolen land? He's nope concerned with appeasing Israel than looking out for his own people.

Does this apply to employers of domestic staff? Is there an income threshold? eg have to report if wages are over 15000 a month?

Some people, it's only 11,500 baht, why would you waste time, effort, energy and raise your BP over such a small amount of money? Do you put no value on your time? I would certainly like to see far fewer farangs here. Maybe they could jack up the 800K in the bank for inflation over the past 20 years....it might make it 2 million and jack up the income required to 200K per month, and then treat the people here much better than now and stop this vile overcharging for farangs.

Totally debt free and have been for over 30 years. We have a husband and wife who work for us. They live in a rented room, and have an 8000 a month car payment for a 4X4 Isuzu taken over 7 years. I have similar issues with US banks. They will only send to US numbers. Some still offer sending it via email, but that is becoming much rarer these days.

If the documents and timing are important, any the fee and use DHL. I have in other non COVID times used EMS perfectly acceptably, to the US and Europe much cheaper.
