When I was a young man, it was very common for thugs and bullies to go out on a Friday night to drink a gallon of beer and have punch up. I managed to avoid the fisticuffs most of the time, but was once a victim of such a gang in an awful incident where the thuggish gang waited outside a late night drinking club for me and my mates. Fortunately I ended up with only a few bruises and a few stitches. The scars are not easily visible, one under the chin and another in my eyebrow.

I haven't been there in years. I considered Mae Him as a home location when I first came here and drove around but they had problems on the beach with off shore pollution being blown in and then all the restaurants along the water side burned dow. I do hope it has recovered.

Teenagers are weird. My two sons are in their 40s and outstandingly successful. Neither did well at school and wasted their teens and 20s on booze and drugs. Both went through addiction therapy, one for heroin and one for alcohol. Sadly it took for them both to hit rock bottom before they realised that they had a problem....my younger son's g/f died off a heroin overdose and my older son's career as a chef crashed and he went to AA. Both got off their habits so it can be done....alcohol is probably more difficult because it is advertised everywhere and very accessible, whereas heroin you have to seek out. Essentially both programs require you to reconstruct your life, getting a regular job, getting into a strong relationship, and saying sorry to all the people you have hurt during your life. They have both been clean for more than 15 years. A likely problem you will encounter is that your son will not listen to you until he, himself, comes to the realisation that he has a huge problem. Talk to him about even even though he won't listen....eventually the message will get through and he'll have a shot at a decent life. There is zero help being a gambler.

You make laws and people find a way around them if it costs money. Historically Chinese have been very strong traders and witness their success around the globe, winning, not by force of arms, but by trading, legally or no. I was once in charge of a sales force in the US and we had to come up with incentive plans for the force. Within a couple of hours of announcing plans members of the sales force had figured out how to get round the obstacles in the plan and to inflate their bonuses. Same with the Chinese (or Americans) sign a deal with them and within hours they have found a way to gain an advantage at your expense.

Well I think you need about 3 million a year for comfortable life so multiply that by 35 years and then factor in inflation at 5 % average.....so the 3 million grows to 6 million a year in 15 years. and 12 million after 30 years. I don't know because I can't do this <deleted> in my head anymore and I don't want to pull up a calculator....but it's roughly 257 million baht. If he only lives 30 years then it falls to 192 million baht.
