I would add the your local Land Office might be a stop after the Ampur. I had a friend who has since died, but who had a nasty incident when his wife unexpectedly died a few years ago. The family were telling him to move out of his house because it was theirs now. My friend had inordinate faith in having a yellow book with his name on it as proof that it was his house.....but it turns out that the yellow book means absolutely nothing in these cases. It turned out that his mother-in-law had gone to the Land office and applied to have the names on his house (in his wife's name) moved into her name. He suspected that she paid a bribe to have the move made quickly although had no evidence for this bribe. The upshot was that he got a very bossy, no nonsense friend (a lady, his wife's best friend) to sort it out without recourse to courts. She did it all at the Ampur and Land Office. There were a few unexpected issues, first mothers-in-law are deemed to hold special status in the intestate deaths of their daughters (in Isaan at least); the m-i-l fraudulently signed her name saying that she was entitled to make the change (and nobody did anything about this fraud); finally it emerged that the land was leased (not chant) and the husband could have his name in the blue book, which no farang thought was even a possibility. He used to proudly show the blue book with his name in it to anyone that asked (again this might only apply locally in Isaan).

No I don't mind answering questions...I don't know what 'getting muddy' means.....please clarify. There's none so blind as those that cannot see, my mother used to say, and my purpose in life is to try to bring some light to the blind and narrow minded.

Empty sloganeering. The west is telling lies and has been to buy knowledge/belief since the Iraq war and probably since before then. Tucker is going trying to expose the vile undersides of American policies and politics. It's pretty simple really. If you don't think people should be able to listen to what Putin actually says instead of reading distorted summaries for biased western papers, then that's ok.
-
Placeholder, you are a 'poll' man. Putin's approval ratings in Russia are way higher than any western politician in his own country.....and not by any small margin. I'm not sure Tucker is anyone who could be called as 'having a history of airing bogus news' which sounds suspiciously like a an unacknowledged moniker from some article in the Guardian.
-
No I don't hate Tucker. I do read newspapers I do not like, for example Huffpost. They give great insights into the minds of today's 'progressive' people (I can't say left wing because Marx never commented on the rights of transgender people or supported identity politics). I will tell you my sources of publications I ready regularly.....Cradle, All Jazeera, Haaretz, CNN, BBC, Guardian, Independent, Bangkok Post, RT, Sputnik, Ukrainska Pravda, Kiev Independent, ET, NHK, Japan News, US and Thai PBS, Information Clearing house, Global Times, The Hill, Daly Mail, Off Guardian, Grayzone, Palestinian News, X, ZH....and some others. Obviously there is an an anti-establishment bias and I don't read every article, I scan the headlines and pick what I am interested in. My key issues are wars, oppression and politics.

Just tio echo what spider mike said above, I also think it is a blessing. There are waaaay too many people on earth and a decline birth rate to bring the population down to sustainable levels is the way to go, it happens over a couple of generations and so is like a soft landing. At fault is the capitalist economic philosophy of pursuing growth at all costs, instead of pursuing growth in GDP per capita even with declining overall GDP. What we need is better living standards for fewer people. -
No I read, listen to, and watch both sides. Only then do I make ups my mind who, in my opinion is lying and who is telling the truth or at least amore rational explanation of what has occurred. Sometimes it is very difficult to make ups your mind as politicians and journalists, from both sides, habitually lie. According to US spokespeople the US never does anything wrong and is always on the right side of any issue. This serves for most people as the only misinformation they receive. I think it is dumb to ever listen too only one side of a story......try listening to your friend's divorce tales.

Yes Tucker must have clean background because the FEDs are vicious and rooting out indiscretions and using them to blackmail people they don't like....I keep waiting for the almost inevitable rape allegation from 25 years ago, corroborated by an equally fake rapee from the same era. All that will be lacking is any evidence. They did the same to Assange and they will be doing the same to Tucker very shortly. Love him or hate him, you should be very sad when the Fed closes him down for challenging the establishment.

My thoughts entirely.....why rely on a biased itntermediary when you can watch and hear the man speak?

Are you telling me that you watched to his 45 minute pod casts when you hate the guy. I'll be watching with bated breath. Can't wait.

Navigating Economic Turbulence: The Thai Economy at a Crossroads
retarius replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Perhaps BRICS+ is on hold while China sorts it's economy out. I think it is a given that the dollar will not be used as the exclusive currency for trade within BRICS, but whether it will hold on to preeminence in trade between BRICS+ members and US/EU will depend largely, I think, on what happens to energy sales. If the SA and the Gulf ditch or downplay the dollar, the impact will be marked and perhaps a 'herd landing' for the dollar. If, as I suspect, BRICS+ and the Gulf will reduce their use of the dollar more slowly over time, then the dollar may well have a 'soft landing'. What puzzles me is a BRICS+ alternative to SWIFT hasn't emerged despite vocal bravado by Putin and Xi that they would establish one. They have put in alternatives to the IMF and World Bank which is welcome no doubt in some quarters. This might be very well received in Africa, Latin America and in countries non-aligned with US hegemony. The bottom line I think is that the US has publicly abused the dominance of the dollar for their geo-political aims....and people have become uncomfortable with that. How would you like to be sanctioned for supporting the innocent civilian side in the conflict in Gaza? It sounds outrageous but many ideas did, and later became established fact, like torture. I always thought naively that our side didn't use it. -

Not only that but most of it is in Post Office savings which pay peanuts in interest. It is a huge cheap loan from the citizens of Japan to their government. -
Thai abbot allegedly rapes 7 year old girl, police ignore case
retarius replied to webfact's topic in Central Thailand News
This makes me sick. What sort of beast could do such a terrible thing to a small girl and making videos as well? Kudos to the mother in standing up for her daughter and grandmother in capturing the videos. One of the things I do not understand about Thailand is the reverence for the monkhood when they get up to all sorts of vile actions, but then again there is always good and bad in any segments of society you care to look at. With the monks, is it the case of a couple of bad apples or does the institution and reverence corrupt the monks? -

Reckless driver’s wrong-way sedan smash-up leaves one dead (video)

Is driving against the flow of traffic actually illegal? People here don't seem to make any kind of fuss about it as they do back home. -
This deserves a round of applause for courage. I cannot however see the Senate allowing this to come to pass.

I believe Putin no more than I do any western politician. Grow up and open your eyes. You are being lied to by the western press. The difference between you and I is simply that I recognise when I am being lied to and when the supine press are just publishing MoD press reports without even reading them or asking any questions. Lying about the need to go to war in Iraq was the single most egregious event in my time on this earth, hundred of thousands were murdered by Blair and Bush, millions of lives were trashed....and it is still going on. the lies of these great men were breathtaking. So don't tell me Putin is a liar....I'm sure he is as much a liar as you or me. You owe it to yourself to listen to what he has to say.....because you have never heard what he has to say, you have only heard second hand, from a biased press out to injure him , what an evil man he is supposed to be. Oh and FYI, your hero, Zelensky, has cancelled elections, disappeared people, banned the Church, dissolved opposition parties etc etc

I doubt you will be watching. Prejudiced people know everything already and so have no need to learn do they? They get their opinions from other and from watch the BBC propaganda. What need have they to actually listen to what the man says.
