  1. I'm a bit sick of hearing news about Thaksin. This charade reminds me of the Earnest Saunders debacle back in the 1990s where this chap, the CEO of Guiness was found guilty of all manner of accounting fraud, theft and conspiracy only to suddenly get Alzheimer's disease and be let out of prison, whereupon he made a miraculous recovery.....the first person in the world even to recover for Alzheimer's. He was given a 5 year sentence, but was in prison for only a few months, but it must be said, longer than Thaksin spent in jail. So, folks, it doesn't only happen in Thailand but also in the most hypocritical nation under the sun.
  2. Good news for Thailand. Well Done.
  3. Japan has been in recession with zero or near zero interest rates for 30 years.....since the early 1990s. But you wouldn't know it if you visited Japan. People have money, the restaurants and bars are full, there is still substantially full employment....the only sigh there is any trouble is homeless schizophrenics on the street begging in Shinjuku. It is the soft landing of soft landings. Very low inflation over the 30 years and now the current has fallen to new lows this past year, Tokyo is a very affordable place, apart from high rents. This brings me to another point, the Japanese tend to live in very small apartments, which means they have a problem with storage, which in turn means that they tend to buy fewer higher quality items for the home or wardrobe, which is why they flock to Chanel etc in the Ginza. To my eyes they seem to have shared the pain of recession much better than we have in the west where it seem the poor get slaughtered each time and the rich? Well they get richer and richer, don't they always? Of course the Japanese have not tackled the burgeoning problem of their society ageing, and what they will do with all the 90 year olds in 20 or 30 years time.
  4. I wonder what anyone needs over 10000 meth pills for. Surely this amount would last a lifetime.
  5. I'm not sure the confrontation is worth the profits. Thais love a gimmick, which is why political strategy is about gimmicks like the digital wallet and land bridges not about really driving the Thai economy forward. What profit is there on a 200baht pair of pants. If Thais were smart they would be hooking up with LMVH and making these a must have in the wardrobe for fashion conscious people and then leveraging that into $4000 handbags and the like.
  6. If you use such services don't expect them to do you any favours. They are there to fleece you and to terrify pedestrians and other road users with their terroristic driving.
  7. No issue. I mentioned it because Tramadol is a restricted drug, because of its addictive potential. But pretty much all the active for all brands of paracetamol comes from a few sources where labour is cheap and where they have good chemists to make it, like India and China. Boots will be buying their paracetamol from the same sources, so it doesn't matter which brand you buy, just pick the cheapest. Sara 100 tabs or caplets costs about 99 baht.
  8. I'm sure there would be some kind Thai ladies to care for you....and give you a good time. You need to think about the treatment for your cancer though, if you want to end up living here.
  9. Make a will bequeathing the assets kin the bank account to her.
  10. Tramadol doesn't have paracetamol in it. Try Sara or Tylenol available in every pharmacy I've been in.
  11. Are you totally mad..,..Putin is as conservative as they come....he's for religion (Orthodox Church), family, and anti-trans, anti-woke and the like. His latest thing is to announce that he wants war vets to become the elite of Russian society. Clearly you have never ever listened to him actually speak (translated properly) and have formed your vies by silly western corporate snippets denigrating him.
  12. Tryuthfully have you ever watched a COMPLETE podcast of his?
  13. mmmm intersting, I dont. I also dont look at the label with any expectation that it accurately gives the place of manufacture.
  14. The inescapable fact is the Jews are murdering innocent Palestinians knowingly. This is immoral and should be abhorrent to everyone on the planet, but apparently there are some bigots on here, who like the Jews committing these murders, who think Palestinians are subhuman, and need to be exterminated.
  15. I've taken some of my wife's jewellery back to the shops where we bought it from....generally to exchange lower weight necklaces for bigger weight ones. It is a con, they change a per carat fee for accepting your jewellery, they give an inferior rate for your jewellery vs the adverted per carat weight, then they charge a fee per carat for purchasing the new item. A couple of years back we wanted to exchange a 3 carat necklace for 5 carat....gold was about 20,000 at the time...the additional fees totalled 20,000 or thereabout meaning they were charging 1 carat worth for the simple transaction. I told them to GTH. I think most gold jewellery sold in 9 carat everywhere in the world. High carat weights are unsuitable for jewellery. A whole back I started buying these 1 baht gold 'bars' which are supposed to be 99% gold. I'll take one back to the jeweller to see what they offer. If they tell me the gold is 9 carat and inferior I'll go the police.
  16. I do have to compliment Andy, Andy, Andy for starting this excellent discussion.
  17. I'm hearing a deafening silence....only Ozimoron replied and he has never watched Tucker or he would have said. So no one who derides him has ever watched him? QED. What a bunch of sheeple you all are, swallowing propangada and government talking points all day long.
  18. How do you know?
  19. Sometimes war is inevitable. Tucker doesn't support the mindless wars the US goes in for in pursuit of global hegemony.
  20. I might be wrong here, but I had imagined that the Orthodox Jews were the zionists. When I lived in the US I had many, many Jewish friends and acquaintances, almost all were Reform whom, I understood for them, were much more liberal in outlook than Orthodox. Is this not true?
  21. I'm not sure what to make of your post. Jews are a subset of organised religion ie they are one or more of the organised religions. Are you sure we are not allowed to criticise the Jewish religion? And criticising individual Jews is ok....say can we criticise vile, inhuman beings/Jews like Netanyahu? How about criticising land stealing Zionists? as a subset of Jews.
  22. When in the US I lived and worked among Jews (Reform not Orthodox). I can honestly say there were no problems and it was totally OK. Our town was about 30% or more Jewish, filled with emigres from Brooklyn. The reception we got was very welcoming from out Jewish neighbours on both sides. At work the CEO and the power structure was also mainly Jewish. I never felt any problem with this not was my progress inhibited. I will note that there were almost no blacks at work despite 'quota' rules for major corporations. I had a very favourable impression of the Jewish community and by extension, Israel, at that time. The impression of Israel, but not my community, changed when I went to Israel in 1989. It was not a place I ever wanted to go back to, largely because of learning about the Palestinian issue.
  23. I'm not too sure about this Khun LA....how long is it since you live in the states? I came here in 2005 first and bought a black T-shirt with a picture of GWB and Adolf Hitler together in the front of it. I wore it on the flight back home to Newark. The immigration guy asked me about the T-short and I said I objected to the Iraq War, the slaughter of innocent lives and the lies told to us before the war. He told me to come into a room where I was interviewed by some agents from ? (they wouldn't say). They made me take off the offending T-shirt, searched all bags etc and then stole the T-shirt. I raged and argued about free speech and they told me that in the real world, what they said went. I left before I got beaten up. It was a heated debate, but I must say, no physical violence. So kudos to the agents on that.
  24. Morch is an irritating commenter....I put him on ignore. He's not worthy debating and a rabid zionism supporter.
