  1. Will have to give Canterbury Tales and the Chow Soy a try, I have Breakfasted in both before but not for a couple of years.

Agreed Simple Simon is good and free Tea/Coffee refills is nice but not in the area too often.

The main draw for me with Le Katai was that it has the Daily Mail. Unless the new owner decides to trim that too.

Although even the DM isn't enough to draw me to their current Breakfast offering.

Any other places with a UK newspaper and a decent English Breakfast?

Personally I come here to get away from UK bad news and the gutter press, if you want to know whats happening just ask some of the guys who come here on Holiday and the net and they will soon enlighten you.

  2. STill a dead area what ever.

Apparently, some people are willing to place big bets that the tide has turned.

Well I will keep my eyes open, dont get me wrong I dont have a problem with the area, its not really my type and although I have popped down that way for a drink or 2 its always a bit dead and the bars towards the hanaman statue near the beach are ok but a bit of a creepy area late on, I am a LK Metro/Baukhaow fan so do nearlly all my deeds round there.

  3. Mookow and the surrounding area is the best place in Patts.

Unbeleivable value for rooms, a massive selection of restaurants, sensibly priced bars, and a friendly vibe.

Those who think they are superior because they pay much more for the same, or less, in the up-market (Ha ha ha) parts of Patts are regarded as just as stupid here as they are in their home countries.

    What he said, here here.

  4. A few places use this sort of thing then come up with fictitious damage so a way to keep your deposit, often agents who rent out condo's for others or companies do this, usually a local person as opposed to a westerner who likes to work on reputation.

  5. Ah I see its the anyone who appreciates Canterbury Tales Cafe and says good things about the place must be the owner pretending to be someone else, maybe the fact that the rooms are always full the cafe is very busy and the bookshop has a steady flow all day says it all.

Good service all round and the proof is in the success of Canterbury Tales breeds jealousy in the few failed businesses in the vicinity.

You really should try harder on your life than stabbing other people in the back, it may just come back and bite you in your ass one day.

frankly, as you seem to weave a mention of Canterbury Tales into almost every post you make , its hardly surprising that you will be accused of being involved in the business.......

I have stayed there, I like the place, I chat with the owner, I have opinions, that's ok isn't it.

  6. Why do people come to Thailand and want it to be like where they come from, but they leave where they come from because of how it is, then want it to be the same, a few bits of trash, wow, how aweful

    *********************************

None of us that live/visit Thailand (or any other country) want the culture...customs....architecture...life style (even the weather) to be the same as back home. But I think 99% of humans prefer to live in a half-way clean, uncluttered environment AND most visitors that come to Thailand are use to throwing their garbage in a bin ---not on the street or in a pile. I wonder what Danlo's home environment looks like...???

+Stop being a toenail, the streets are half way clean and uncluttered, a few areas with a few bits of trash, all offer to pay a few bob to the council and ask them to get it all way clean and uncluttered, its a small part of the big picture.
