    9. What should I do if I change my mobile phone?

If you change your mobile phone, you need to download the Bangkok Bank Mobile Banking app and follow the below steps to get started.

For Bualuang iBanking users , download and log in with your existing Bualuang iBanking User ID and password to re-activate the app on the new mobile phone right away.

If you don’t have a Bualuang iBanking user ID and password, you can

    • Use your debit card number and authenticate by facial recognition via the app. Or
    • Use your account number, citizen ID card number and authenticate by facial recognition via the app. You also need to remember your current Mobile PIN.

Note: These only apply to Thai citizens who have verified their identity using their Citizen ID card at a Bangkok Bank branch before.

If you cannot re-activate the application in-app, you can request a new User ID and PIN to log in at

    • Bualuang ATM
    • Bangkok Bank branches nationwide: please bring your passbook and Citizen ID card.

You might find this thread that I began a couple of weeks ago useful. I plan on having the first eye done tomorrow. I was told 25,000 each eye at my nearby-ish private hospital and 20,000 plus 5,000 'tip' demanded by a doctor at the government hospital. They tell me an overnight stay is needed but I'll argue against that to return the next day to be checked. I'll take an overnight bag containing essentials such as my laptop if they insist otherwise no op.

From all that I've read, the procedure is no big deal and takes less than 30 minutes. Friends that have had it done in the UK went home on the bus after tea and biscuits.

Strange, I was operated on (Cataract) at Bumrungrad Hospital, arrived at the Hospital at 8ishAM and was back in the hotel (next door to the Hospital) at around 1pm.

When I had my cataracts done in a Gov hospital, there were quite a lot of us, me the only farangy, we were all instructed on the importance of cleanliness and the proper use of the eye drops, no water in the eye. Which was a lot to think about.

I fully agree, I went back the following morning (after the OP) and we got the instructions on how to clean the eye with the supplied sterile cotton balls and Saline. The eye drop schedule was rigorous, 11 drops during the day

Ps: The numbers I wrote on the list are circled ones, the order you have to use them  the > 10 is how long to wait after administering them (which in this case is wait 10 mins)

I changed banks after 7 months after approval

lowered my 800k to 400k  in bank a

deposited 400k in bank b the same day

deposited last 400k in bank b

I will not have even 6 months in bank b when I have to renew

I technically never went under 400k, with the bank

A 12 month statement will not be possible in bank A nor B

    so how F-ed am I ?

did you close the account in Bank A?

If not, then you could ask them for a statement of the months the money was in the account and also get a statement from Bank B.

    Which immigration office?

Haven't read of an immigration office being satisfied with only 6 months of proof of financials.

Perhaps you provided bank book also.

Buriram. Bank book they just had a glance and gave it back, maybe it is because it’s a fixed Deposit?

I had the 12 month statement with me (got that a week before going to immigration) and it wasn’t asked, only the 6 month and the bank letter which I got on the same day as going to IO

It sounds as if you still have all or most circuits protected by RCBOs, I’d so then not using a whole house RCBO is no problem.

There is certainly one circuit that probably should not have an RCBO on it and that is the one that has the refrigerator and freezer on it. Personally I have 3 zones with RCBOs and I haven’t got a fridge/freezer unprotected circuit, but I should have.

Maybe I wasn't clear enough but we changed the relevant ones to be RCBO (from normal ones).

    So the previous situation was:

    MAIN MCB = RCBO

    Single ones = NON RCBO

    New Situation

    MAIN MCB = NON RCBO

    relevant Single ones = RCBO

other ones = NON RCBO (amongst them the fridge)

Is that place still on a Construction Supply (8-ish Baht per unit) or normal supply (5-ish Baht per unit)?

The inspection usually happens when switching to a normal supply from a construction supply.

It was never on construction supply, it was an existing house we bought from our Neighbour and the OLD PEA meter was a 5/15A one.

The house was fitted with very outdated electrical components. So we upgraded the Electrical System to Schneider with RCBO and an "isolator" and we asked the PEA to place the Meter closer to the house and upgrade the meter to a 15/45A (in case we want to install aircon)

Meter move was done early December and yesterday the new electronic meter (as they don't supply the old meters any more) was installed (which is a 5/100A one)
