  1. Is your address with Wise in Thailand? If so then NO. Mine is in Europe and I got the card send to my Postal address there and then friends FedEx(ed) it over.
  2. Thx. I have looked and checked over 2022 the interest and stock gains are less then the RD 150.000 THB exempt and then I also have 60k (I believe) extra because I am married. Will still go out of the country for at least 6 months to be on the safe side.
  3. I wonder how the RD going to deal with this situation I am still too young to get a Pension and just live of Savings (sold my house etc etc many moons ago) and I am not a registered Citizen in my Home Country any more. Most of my assets (accounts) are still there though. Money for Immigration is in a Fixed Deposit account since ages and I just transfer money in (declared as living expenses) once in a while (when we need it). But just to be on the safe side I will stay (in 2024) out of Thailand for approx 6 months at least till the dust settles.
  4. +1 That is what I am also going to do for the first year (2024) for sure Ps: Please do note (I don't know about the UK) but EU is the same as Thailand with their 180 days in the year Tax Residency, so I don't know if that will affect you.
  5. You are correct in your thinking, but even transfers (EURO which converted are well over 50k THB) are almost instantly added to your Balance and don't take a day or so to get transferred to your Thai Bank account and that is why I use it. And transferring the money out there is AFAIK only a fee of 31(ish) (YMMV) THB for any transfer Have a look at this screenshot (taken just now) taken when sending 90.000 THB to my Thai Bank account and the fee is only 31,70 THB (This transfer would arrive on Monday (tmrw) in my Thai Bank account) I personally like it, but it's up to personal preferences of course)
  6. Correct, but until that is the case it's Stress Galore IMHO and with Thai's you can't say how long that is going to be the case
  7. YOU (MAY) have to prove that you HAVE been in Thailand during 1 year (Jan 1 - Dec 31) LESS then 180 days. Count your days carefully. It's clear as mud currently!
  8. Sorry to say, but you are spot on, but that said if the RD (Tax) and IO (Immigration) databases are linked like this, we are all up for the slaughter (and for the tax man it is not proven until guilty, but prove you are NOT guilty) But I am the only the one who finds it a coincidence that the THB FALLS and this c... f...k happening?
  9. I know, but I prefer to use my Wise THB Balance and THB Jar (like to keep the Balance in my Thai Bank accounts under 1 Million THB (800.000 THB already taken by FD for immigration))
  10. That is a good word for this cluster f.c.u.k. What I am doing is just be out of the country long enough to (for 2024) not be classified as a Tax Resident (less then 180 days in the country in the whole year). And will think again what to do after this all clears up or there is more certainty. (Need to go back to my home country any way ???? )
  11. I tend to agree, but for computers nowadays it's not that difficult to link name, visa status and amount withdrawn over a year from an ATM (with an overseas ATM card) together that is just linking database together. Also bringing in Cash is not that safe as you need to exchange it and when exchanging it, what do they need? Your Id (passport)
  12. Does anyone know if Wise reports to the Thai Taxman the Balance you have in THB in Wise? At the moment I am converting EURO to THB but only in my Wise Balance and not sending it to my Thai Bank Accounts.
  13. I think that is what worries most of the Expats, because it's now clear as mud. I for one, will only, for the foreseeable future (at least 2024), stay in Thailand (less then) 180 Days in a year and the rest in Europe and travelling with the Thai Wife. Extension of Stay here will keep it alive for now.
  14. What I like about ZZ Top is that (AFAIK) most of their songs are credited to all members of ZZ Top (Frank Beard, Billy Gibbons, Dusty Hill) and not just the one (or two) member (like you see with other bands), so they share equally the royalty cut (that is real friendship which in their case goes back a long long time) Edit: More details about that picture https://www.texasmonthly.com/arts-entertainment/billy-gibbons-on-the-zee-zee-top-prom-photo/ (Picture taken around May 1970 so around 53 years ago)
  15. Have a look here https://movetocambodia.com/planning-your-move-to-cambodia/cambodia-visas/ Some info that could be useful
  16. Correct, Afaik the rates will be the same only the top rate will be lowered (but we have to wait and see as always) But the clue for people who don't use a lot in that Post is this. So instead of paying 0,66 THB per Unit extra it will be lowered to 0,2048 THB. So for example if you use 100 Units, with Ft 0,66 (it's actually 0,6689 at the moment) you paid 100 x 0,66890 = 66,89 THB extra. With the lowered Ft you would only pay 100 x 0,2048 = 20,48 THB extra. And not long ago the Ft rate was 0,98270 (so almost 1 THB extra per unit) (but there was a discount structure in place especially for the people who used LESS then 300 UNITS)
  17. Yep it's a sliding scale These are the old prices. First 150 kWh. ( 0 – 150 th) 3.2484 THB per kWh Next 250 kWh. ( 151 st – 400 th) 4.2218 THB per kWh Over 400 kWh. ( 401 st and over) 4.4217 THB per kWh And do please NOTE these prices are exclusive of Ft (Fuel Surcharge), VAT, and Service Charge. At 3.5THB per unit how much electric did you use then? Not a lot I guess
  18. Sorry for my ignorance, but is the difference in V in the cells not solved by Balancing them? Or does charging solve that as well?
