  1. Can you post it? So that we can post a clarification Before posting Please remove all personal identifying info, like PEA Nr, QR codes etc etc Edit: Price per unit is on a sliding scale, the more you use the more you pay. (and on top of that is service charge, FT charge, AND VAT 7%)
  2. Question, will the Consulate in Savvankhet be oke with a (recent online) Bank Statement from a FOREIGN Bank that shows (at least the equivalent of) 400.000 THB to be able to apply for a Multiple Entry Non-O visa (based on Marriage to a Thai)? TiA
  3. That said, it's also not good for your wallet, because when the mains is "out of water", you will be paying for sucking air as the Water Meter (AFAIK) will still spin because the Pump is sucking air which cause the water meter to spin.
  4. +1 As I read it he doesn't! @mran66 If you have connected the pump directly to the mains and the mains don't have enough pressure (less water) then your pump is sucking air which would cause it to overheat. Normal working method for a Pump is have the Mains connect (fill) to a Water tank and then the Pump will draw water from that tank (and not directly from the mains) @Crossy has a great diagram for it on how to connect it, but I can't find it right now. Edit: Found it
  5. Same here, and back then nothing (fortunately) happened and we still have the old style meter. But we are upgrading the house we bought next door and also upgrading the electrical system in that house from 5/15A to 15/45A we contacted the PEA and we will also get an Electronic Meter to replace the old 5/15A one. Now I am wondering how long it will take for them to exchange all the meters in our Soi (inclu the one in our House) edit: Maybe by upgrading the electricity for the next door house we are getting unwanted attention
  6. i asked them when I did my extension (2 weeks ago) and they said (and I quote) “They prefer the bank letter and book update to be done on the same day”. (Ymmv) My bank branch only opens at 10:30, I could go to the one in town (which opens earlier) but parking there is very difficult. This is Buriram IO ps: i had the 12 month statement also (approx 4 weeks old) but they did not ask for it, only the 6 month statement (but must say it’s a FD deposit with the money in there many years already, I am already on my 2 book, which they both wanted to look at)
  7. the longest wait for us is to get the bank letter and the 6 month statement at the bank, that usually is at approx an hour in the bank, immigration was a breeze, arrived at 12:55 left 13:20 with a new 1 year extension (retirement)
  8. We lost a whole kitchen because of termites, reason being that the company that installed the kitchen did not use any termite protection on the wood for the kitchen Have a look at this (Brown areas where the Termites hit) (The steel you see is for the Electric Mains entering the house to the Consumer Unit)
  9. No absolutely not will they give you time to pause, when I got it for me it was 4th December and if not by that date, they would block your account and you would not be able to transfer or use your balances. That email was a reason why I removed ALL my Balances with them.
  10. True. My wife recently renewed her licenses after her birthday and she got almost 6 years validity.
  11. Oke but the second question I asked, is the bigger the better (in square mm) in this case better or not?
  12. The Mains cable (coming from the meter) is 25mm² ALU so what would then be the earth size be? And another question, is in this case the bigger the cable the better?
  13. Yes fully agree, he did my cataract surgery (both Eyes) at Bumrungrad but did the Retina Detachment at Rutnin as it was easier for him to schedule it there. Re: Price: my insurance paid
  14. 100% and excellent English! (Studied in the U.S of A.) And if it helps for the OP he also works at Bumrungrad (1 or 2 days (I am not 100% sure) a week. He is very busy usually!
  15. +1 He fixed my retina detachment without any issues!
  16. Update: The PEA meter has been moved closer to the house and next week (even before the house is finished) we will get the new meter which is (unfortunately) a digital meter but has the range 5/100A. How come it went so fast, one of the workers knows the guys who do the install personally and so he came over and did the move. He will also arrange the move and the new meter without that we have to go to the PEA office (for a small fee of course) The PEA guy also agreed to the 63A in the "isolator" (he definitely knows what it is as we showed him the proposed layout). We even can go with a 63A in the MAIN CU, but that would mean to go in the Return process (not online) with the Shop we bought it from (and as it was a special order so that will be difficult). So we leave the 50A MCB RCBO in the CU.
  17. 55555555555555555 In our old house, the PEA guy (same guy who did the inspection on our current house) just looked at the "isolator", safety cut , and CU and just nodded his head and signed off on it. (This is approx 8 years ago). He didn't even bother to look at the rods etc or ask any questions. It was even worse (If I can say that) at our current house, he didn't even come inside, he just connected the "permanent" meter up (we were using the construction meter with the increased rates) up on the road and just was chit chatting away with with Sparky and SWMBO and did NOT bother to come in and check. Baan Nork springs to mind
  18. We live in the House next door and when we build this house we pulled 25mm² NYY Copper from the Meter to the House and from the 200M (2 rolls) I bought back then I still have some considerable (pricey I believe)) lengths available, did not use them all. So that is what we are going to use Edit: To avoid confusing (we are doing the house next door and using left over cable (NYY) from the house we live in
  19. 555555555555555 My argument with them ends with "the guy that works for the BTS and takes care of all their electrics" and that usual shuts them up (with that I also mean @Crossy of course 555555) (I also mention he is a Farang, which adds a extra weight around "Baan Nork")
  20. That is the reason (in our current house) we did go with a "normal" MCB and all individual RCBO's. So in a case of a trip only one of the circuits trips and NOT the main MCB which causes the whole house to be out of power. But this with Schneider was ... expensive. Edit: Current House CU (stickers need work 555555555555) Ps: We only had one trip in all the years that we are here (2+) and that was because of a faulty extension lead)
  21. The one in the CU is RCBO as well. Issue? (B....dy expensive that one) Edit: Will wait till the PEA has left and install a 63A in the "isolator" but need to wait for a power outage 5555555555555555
  22. Wow thx for the pic. Will show this to the sparky tmrw and PEA when they come to inspect :
  23. But IMHO no issues as 50A is more then enough for the current setup as for example no aircon's (the niece who will live in the house doesn't want it) and only a Water Heater of 4500W. (secured with a 32A RCBO).
