  1. I still have some lengths of 25mm² NYY Copper left from the install of our current house, will use that. The Grounding Rod is approx 2,20m+ long is that enough?
  2. My bad, that I wasn't clear enough. The other (old) rod is on the other side of the house next to the wall (direct distance between them is around 10 meters (with walls in between them)) (So "old" rod is located on the left side of the House, new rod right side of the house)
  3. Update: We talked to the PEA (finally) and they said - 25mm² Alu is sufficient to the house from the Meter - isolator can max be 50A same as MCB (max 50A) YMMV Edit: Did not go with a ready made Box, but went again with Schneider Boxes with the MCB (CU) will be 50A RCBO
  4. We are "modernising" the house next door we have bought several years ago. One of the changes is redoing ALL the old electrics to include RCBO's etc etc/ The Old grounding rod was placed directly next to the wall of the house and then covered in concrete leaving only a small "stump" uncovered. Now we want to place another grounding rod on the other side of the wall (approx 100cm from the wall). This side is close to where the CU will live. The OLD grounding rod will not be connected up. Is there an issue with leaving the old grounding rod in place or not. Removing the OLD one will be a "big" task as we have to break away all the concrete etc etc. And another question, we will connect 10mm² copper to the grounding rod is that sufficient or should we go bigger (Supply is 15/45A) TiA
  5. It's NOT for THEM to prove that you were in LOS more then 180 days, the burden of prove that you weren't will be I guess with YOU and not with them . Guilty until proven innocent comes to mind. I fully agree with your Cluster ____ comment, that is exactly what I think that is going to happen and that is why I am leaving LOS for 6 months+ next year, and will wait till 2025 till the dust settles.
  6. The way I read it what he wrote was about if you don't pay taxes abroad or in Thailand, get the ..... out of Thailand (re: don't get your visa renewed). But I could be wrong
  7. nope it doesn’t have a swift code, I can only transfer money in via the wise app, but can withdraw from it (in THB) with my wise debit card or pay for online goods via the virtual cards (withdraws direct from the THB balance). i used it a lot because you have something called “auto conversion”, where you can set a desired rate for EUR -> THB and as soon as the rate was reached they transferred / converted the set amount (which you needed to keep in your EURO balance) automatically to your THB balance.
  8. There is. Again my account is registered in my home country and that is why I also have the Debit card (which I am not going to renew just use their virtual cards). I can even open a GBP balance with its own sort code (I am not from the Uk). I cleared my balances recently after the threatened to freeze the account unless you answered their intrusive questions which I did but just don’t keep any balances with them anymore.
  9. Maybe it has to do with that my Wise is registered with my Home Country address and that is also the reason I have their “physical” Debit Card.
  10. Wise do charge a lot more then what the Thai Banks charges for usage of their ATM (Thai Bank charges the 2xx THB). Wise ATM Card (last week when I used it) charged more then double that when withdrawing 25k THB and they labelled it as "Our ATM Fee". Ps: No currency conversion as it was from my THB Balance at Wise.
  11. A couple of Pages back we talked about Herman Brood / Nina Hagen. See what I dug up from YT (1974 before her breakthrough with the Nina Hagen Band) For example who don't know Nina Hagen, this is one of the songs from her breakthrough Debut Album (Cover of the Tubes)
  12. And because Peter Frampton was member of the band above a great performance by him
  13. Please DO NOTE, the prices you mention are EXCL (Excl of Service Charge, FT Charge and VAT) Re: the grannies and the uncles upcountry, I already posted about that in post #3 that it is IMHO unfair
  14. Type = 1125, means that you are using a 15/45A or 30/100 Meter Recent Reading = units recorded on the day the meter reader most recently checked the meter (day you got your bill) Previous Reading = units recorded previous bill period Consumption = Difference between previous and recent reading in Units You used that Bill Period (03/2566) 431 Units (3373 - 2942) 1679,60 = total electricity charge (excl) 24,62 = service charge for your meter (Payable every month) 402,68 (Ft 0,9343) = Fuel surcharge per unit (431 * 0.9343) (The debate in this thread is about this NUMBER) 2107,10 = Sub Total 147,50 = VAT 7% over the Sub Total 2254,60 = Total Amount to pay So you paid an average price per unit of 2254,60 / 431 = 5,23 THB (incl)
  15. In addition it also doesn't (at all) take in consideration low income earners / people who don't use a lot of electric. IMHO increase it for the heavy users, but lower the burden for the lower income like they did before, usage under a certain amount wasn't affected as much (Like this, please DO NOTE, these figures are NOT Accurate any more, just used as an Example)
  16. Yep that is the reason why I want to put one in, during our solar install that was a main deal breaker (and also one of the reasons why it took so long) because we did not have the Isolator, so in this house I want to put 1 in standard from the start.
  17. I have no idea if such a (pre-fab) CU exists, but just in case I will also go for the setup of an incomer (can the incomer size be greater then the one from the MAIN CU?)
  18. We are finally doing up the property next door we bought several years ago The current electric is how can I put it nicely Current Supply is via 5/15 meter but we intend to get it upgraded to a 15/45 meter. A couple of questions please 1- What size cable does PEA want to see from the Meter to the House (distance approx 20 meters) is that 25mm² or 16mm² And must it be copper or alu? 2- What size Main breaker do I need to get for the 5/15 supply (I was thinking of getting such a ready made consumer unit)? TiA
  19. No follow up yet, but just to be sure I cleared my Balances I had with them.
