  1. Have a look at True Money Wallet https://www.truemoney.com/foreigner/
  2. It would help if you disclose your location.
  3. Good one @Bandersnatch We will also be going in the future off-grid, but that said, we will keep the PEA meter just as a backup. I understand your backup is now the V2L (Vehicle to Load) but in eventualities it helps to also be able to switch to PEA and for 30 THB +/- per month, (which it costs to keep the PEA meter (standard service charge)), it's IMHO worth it.
  4. Post a screenshot please
  5. did you close the account in Bank A? If not, then you could ask them for a statement of the months the money was in the account and also get a statement from Bank B.
  6. Buriram. Bank book they just had a glance and gave it back, maybe it is because it’s a fixed Deposit? I had the 12 month statement with me (got that a week before going to immigration) and it wasn’t asked, only the 6 month and the bank letter which I got on the same day as going to IO
  7. My last extension, I got the 12 month statement (just in case) but they (IO) asked for the 6 month statement only and the bank letter. Both, the 6 month statement and the bank letter, I got on the same day as going to Immigration
  8. Maybe I wasn't clear enough but we changed the relevant ones to be RCBO (from normal ones). So the previous situation was: MAIN MCB = RCBO Single ones = NON RCBO New Situation MAIN MCB = NON RCBO relevant Single ones = RCBO other ones = NON RCBO (amongst them the fridge)
  9. It was never on construction supply, it was an existing house we bought from our Neighbour and the OLD PEA meter was a 5/15A one. The house was fitted with very outdated electrical components. So we upgraded the Electrical System to Schneider with RCBO and an "isolator" and we asked the PEA to place the Meter closer to the house and upgrade the meter to a 15/45A (in case we want to install aircon) Meter move was done early December and yesterday the new electronic meter (as they don't supply the old meters any more) was installed (which is a 5/100A one)
  10. Update: House next door is 95% finished and the new Electronic Meter 5/100A has been installed by the PEA. No inspection by them of the electrical installation. We changed the Main MCB (50A) in the CU from a RCBO to a Normal one. We got some tripping which the Sparky solved, but because the MAIN one, when it trips, causes the whole house to be out of Power we changed it and thus changed the relevant (individual) ones from a Normal one to RCBO, so that only those circuits will trip and NOT the whole house will be out of power.
  11. Re: EURO Countries, everything over 10.000 EURO must be declared when leaving via a special form. https://europa.eu/youreurope/citizens/travel/carry/carrying-cash/index_en.htm
  12. +1 and the Doc I recommend there is Dr Roy, excellent English and a very nice guy. He operated on my Retinal Detachment (and also my Cataract (both eyes) and no issues. He also works in Bumrungrad.
  13. https://web.whatsapp.com edit: does your ipad have an sim card or is it the wifi only version? I use the web app (link above) and it works great
  14. +1. Or (as in our case) can be accessed via a Web interface.
  15. And that is what the installer / builder forgot to do, but he still charged a ton of money for the Kitchen. We have outside the same house a seating area made from wood over the pond, but we put lots of layers of the Chaindrite Wood Preservative on it and up to now it's still oke This stuff
  16. @notrub Ask Bob (former RuangsangThai) he uses a Company for his house in Satuek (Buriram) and is very pleased with the service. The company is in Buriram If you don't have his phone number, PM me.
  17. The result of unprotected wood in our Kitchen and termites eating hit. Destroyed the whole kitchen That brown area is where the termites hit, that steel you see is the electricity mains coming into the house to the Consumer Unit.
  18. Update: A friend of mine, renewed his license yesterday a couple of days after his birthday, and his new license is valid until his Birthday in 2030. So indeed almost 6 years
  19. Thx for the heads up @007 RED I have warned my wife and other family members. There is another scam going on with callers pretending to be PEA, they are calling to say that we have late payment of the electric bill. My wife just hangs up on them. Wow these guys (read scammers) try everything
  20. If you use Google Authenticator with a Google Account then it's as simple as installing Google Authenticator on your new phone and login with the Google Account and voila your (old) 2FA codes appear in the APP automatically. Also you can Choose to backup the Codes to your PC. https://www.wikihow.com/Restore-Google-Authenticator
  21. Recent Reading: 10535 (reading on the most recent date the meter reader took it) Previous Reading 9914 (same as above but from the previous month) Usage 621 Units (Recent - Previous reading) Total Electric Charge 2519,93 (this is the actual price without any extras (so 2519,93 / 621 = 4,057 THB per unit) The Extra's Service Charge 24,62 (same every month) FT charge (as said is Fuel Surcharge) (which is 0.2048 per Unit 621 * 0.2048 = 127,18) Vat 187.02 (7% over the total) Total 2858.75 (you have to pay) So you average price per kW you pay to the PEA is = 4,603 THB
  22. An option for the OP is. Day 1: (early morning) Go to the Electricity Meter and NOTE it's reading Day 2: (early morning) Go to the Electricity Meter and NOTE it's reading again and subtract Day 1 reading from Day 2 reading Day3: (early morning) Go to the Electricity Meter and NOTE it's reading After that. Turn off SOLAR Day 4: (early morning) Go to the Electricity Meter and NOTE it's reading again and subtract Day 3 reading from Day 4 reading This will give you a VERY rough calculation (not incorporating back spinning meters etc)
