  1. ^^ The favourites are stored in the Current.GPX (You should make a backup of this file if you want to keep your favorites) or make a backup of your favorites via Base Camp

Here is info from the Gps Society how to update Maps

How to update map for nuvi or Mobile XT

Map update: if you download map from gpssociety.com website, you will get a file names "gmapprom.img". Connect your nüvi to a computer via a USB cable. The computer will see nüvi as a removable drive (like a flash drive) such as G:\, for example.

For 3-digit models: when clicks at nüvi drive, Garmin folder will shown. When browse under this folder, there is a installed map file with the same name: gmapprom.img. You can copy and replace this file directly. If the file name is "gmapsupp.img", just delete it after copied the new file.

For 4-digit models: map file is located under Garmin\.system folder. Normally it is hidden by default. In Windows Explorer, go to Tools > Folder options... > View and click select "Show hidden files, folders, and drives" and remove the check mark in front of "Hide protected operating system files (Recommended)". Then the .system will be unhidden.

If you have additional question(s), please call: 0-2266-9945 or contact via email at: [email protected]

For Garmin Mobile XT: replace the file name "gmapprom.img" with (or gmapsupp.img) the new one under Storage Card/Garmin.

Note: it is a good idea to make a backup of previous map file first in case that you lost the map CD that comes with the package or if you have other country map file installed with the same file name: "gmapprom.img".

  2. how long is the waiting list for the jazz.

We ordered the wife's replacement Jazz in Sept and latest report is delivery around second half of Dec

    2012?

Yes. I will call them again tomorrow and ask if that date has changed, but this was info from around 2 weeks ago.

  3. No, I know the law. I need to carry ID (Thai Driving Licence) and if requested to present my passport I must do so within a reasonable time, so I'll make sure I take it with me if I leave the province I'm in.

    Me 2.

To the OP; where have you observed the searches taking place? I haven't seen any searches taking place and I frequent the well known tourist haunts of Bkk a few days every month.

I think the OP is referring to this Topic about Phuket,

    http://www.thaivisa....d-at-all-times/

also in Pattaya this isn't the case and there aren't any reports about Police doing checks if Foreigners are carrying their passports.

But to answer the OP's question, I carry my Thai Driving License and a Laminated Copy of my Passport Face page including Last 90 Day Report and Last Extension of Stay.

  4. Well, sad news, he didn't survive the night. I suspect the ants may have been the main reason. When she first found it ants were already having a go at him. After she hung it up in the basket in the tree by a 30cm thin steel wire they managed to find him as there were large numbers coming down the wire and covering him and was badly bitten before she could retrieve him. sad.png

Sorry to hear this !! sad.png

  5. AS matter of interest if i upgrade does it wipe all the saved detinations on the old map, i purchased Gramain in the UK but got ESRI on disk here and added into the slot on the unit

    Thanks

No idea if upgrading the map wipes hem out, but just to make sure you can use Basecamp (if you have Windows or a Mac) to backup your old way points and routes and after upgrading the map you can restore the backup.

  6. Maybe time to introduce a "Don't Like This" button ?

You do have a Report button whistling.gif if you do not like it, then please use it w00t.gif

Agree 100% but isn't that if the post doesn't violate forum rules it will not be removed, if the post is just obnoxious or Offtopic most of them don't get removed, but if they get removed, then only about 60% of all post will remain. So a better option would be the "don't like button" thumbsup.gif

Edit: // Maybe 60% is a to positive Number wink.png

  7. Wasn't the debt 72 Million Thai Baht instead of 72 Million USD ($) that would increase the debt (around) 30 times

    Edit: // Found the link

PATTAYA: -- Bangkok Bank Plc has sued Thailand's biggest fitness operator: California WOW Xperience Plc (CAWOW).

Bangkok Bank, the creditor, filed a lawsuit after the company was unable to service debts totalling 75.87 million THB (debt of 71.90 million THB and default interest of 3.97 million THB).

The report said CAWOW, founded by Mr. Eric Levine, “is continuing to make progress on the existing rehabilitation plan”.
