Roaming is alreadt turned on see post #1
prepaid.
decent? 899 Thb for about a week or something like that.
I will have a sim card as soon as I arrive/ land as friends (who are picking me up) have already bought and registered it for me)
i only need roaming to receive sms from my banks in Thailand, if I did not needed that I would disable the whole AIS SIM and this topic did not exist
But that deserves another question.
how will line / whatsapp react to this change as they are registered to a phone number or doesn’t it matter? Anyone know?
You could also try NCA (Nakornchai Air) as all there buses that arrive in Pattaya will end up in Rayong..
NCA bus station is near the intersection with Pattaya klang, turn right at the traffic lights and maybe 200 meters on the left hand side is their bus station
It says default for Mobile data thus not that it will be not enabled if your Sim 2 somehow fails to make a connection
But maybe that is indeed far fetched ????
Will have to experiment with it, but I would still be happy if I just can disable the Roaming internet.
I still have time before I fly and will visit an AIS shop and ask
That is because the forum sw is reindexing all the posts (already is taking 2-3 weeks).
But I fail to see what that has to do with AIS and Roaming ????
I could of course disable the whole AIS sim but that would also prevent me from receiving SMS messages from the banks (my main reason why I enable roaming in the 1st place)
An alternative of course is carrying 2 phones with me. 1 home country number and 1 Thai number but I would like to prevent that (but will keep it as a possibility)
I fully understand that, but maybe you know how expensive data roaming is.
i will use the internet (data) connection from my home country sim but who knows when it fails that it doesn’t fall back to the AIS sim, and that is what I want to PREVENT.
I will have 2 sims installed.
one for Thailand (esim) and 1 for home country and thus would like when abroad to disable the internet possibility for the AIS sim.
I agree, but for sure I can let you know in 2 weeks as then our Feb - Mar bill is due.
I also wonder if then the discount of the Standard service charge (38.22 THB -> 24.62 THB) is still in effect.
