  1. The whole piece is so nonsensical it's difficult to know if Heinecke was talking nonsense or they've just totally misreported what he said. I suspect it's the latter.
  2. Agreed, it's typical political chicanery that's deserving of criticism. Whether or not he made a genuine mistake on his tax returns, as he claims, is almost of secondary importance.
  3. There's a famous court judgement which says everyone has the right to arrange their affairs so as to pay the least amount of tax within the law. In it's simplest form, putting money in an ISA is tax avoidance. That's why social justice warriors whingeing about people like Zahawi not paying "the right amount" of tax is just hypocrisy. It's up to each person's individual choices, and if what he did was within the law there's absolutely nothing to criticise him for. If he didn't follow the law.....that's another matter.
  4. I'm sure that won't stop the climate change cult claiming it's due to increased CO2/fossil fuels/animal farts and that we've all got to live in caves and eat bugs to stop natural weather cycles that have been going for millenia.
  5. I hope Chuwit has good protection, he'll need it. Maybe they could get him to find the Red Bull guy?
  6. I just love the way tax collectors call their victims 'customers'. We're just sheep to be shorn.......customers have a choice.
  7. He knows which way the wind is blowing. End of the unipolar world, expanded BRICS (including Saudi, Iran, Argentina etc.) is where the economic power is moving.
  8. Parliament has long ceased to be sovereign on many issues. The entire Covid response was managed by executive edict, as was signing up the UK to wholly unrealistic net zero targets.
  9. I assume you have supporting calculations and assumptions for that figure?
  10. Your argument seems to be 'let's go on doing more of the same which hasn't worked for the last 15 years and has got us into this mess.........and expect a different result'. The definition of madness I believe.
  11. Exactly what damage to the UK economy could be worse than 10% inflation, negative growth, strikes on a scale not seen since the 1970s and total collapse of the NHS?
  12. So they're only focusing on the top 10% of useless laws to avoid wasting parliamentary time (not because they're not useless laws). Sounds like a sensible approach.
  13. Nonsense. There's a committee going through 11,000 pieces of legislation imposed on the UK by the EU to decide which are no longer required and can be removed. My guess is it's about 99.5% of them.
  14. The Guardian, most of the MSM and the entire civil service in the UK are extremely angry at losing the vote and doing their best to sabotage Brexit. Three years on and we're still struggling to get masses of unnecessary EU laws off the statute book. Rishi need to get a grip, particularly on illegal immigration.
  15. Oh yes it does (is this a Christmas pantomime?)
  16. It is partly to do with the war in Ukraine, very little to do with Brexit, and mostly due the the vast amount of funny money that has been conjured out of thin air by central banks since 2008. The Magic Money Tree, handouts for people to stay at home during Covid, government spending on an unprecedented scale - these are the real reasons for the cost of living crisis. Inflation is caused by too much money chasing a limited supply of goods and services.
  17. I think you'll find that the biggest RTP detractors are the Thais themselves. BTW nice mixed metaphor there. I'd rather have my candle and eat it.
  18. Delighted for Messi. The great man finally gets the only trophy missing from his collection and the one he wanted most. Also puts to bed two arguments: greatest Argentinian player (sorry Diego) and Messi v Ronaldo (no contest). Not sure about the GOAT though.......maybe he'll have to share that one with Pele.
  19. While the international community has put in a lot of effort into resolving the political crisis in Myanmar after General Min Aung Hlaing’s coup last year What exactly has the international community done to resolve the crisis?
  20. You're not the only one. Poor old Joe's so confused doesn't know if he's coming or going. Politicians don't have the slightest grasp of basic economics anyway. Companies exist to make returns for their shareholders, not to push some fluffy ESG agenda or bail out politicians for their dumb decision to impose sanctions that hurt their own countries more than Russia.
  21. Selfishness, laziness….just the usual traits of human nature evident everywhere in the world.
