T2 was very crowded yesterday (Monday). Queue for Thai Lion flights were just under 2 hours. It would have been better to arrive late and wait for the staff to hold up the flight destination that was next to depart, which allowed special queue jumping check-in. After 1 1/2 hours, I was still about 15 minutes from the front when they called my flight and I quickly scooted over to the special lanes.
Thai Lion are a bit of a joke as well. Besides being able to reserve a seat, on line check-in is useless. On every other airline that I have used, you check in on line, go to the airport and find the special queue, give them your bag, and you are off. No can do at Thai Lion. Still need to wait in the line with the other thousand people.
T2 Thai Lion has about 12 check -in desks. They had more over at T1. Maybe still getting things sorted at the new terminal.
Check in baggage procedure was strange. After check-in, you go to another area and watch a video monitor of your bag going down the belt. If they didn't like something, it was pushed to the side and they called out to the owner of the bag. If your bag went through without being flagged, you were OK and went to security. Not clear, so I am sure some passengers go straight from check-in to security without checking the monitor. Surprise when you get to your destination and your bag doesn't come out.

They should all be registered and pay the same fees as the rest per night to upkeep the island infrastructure (555). H&S issues, insurance for guests as well as paying their company income tax to support the local governments budget (555). These unregistered guesthouses / hotels / villa's should never have been allowed to mushroom to this level. I recall many years ago that the per night fee per guest that many hotels charged was not strictly enforced. So some hotels could decide by themselves not to pay. What a crazy island we live on.

Don't forget the condensation drain pipe.

Who's land is it and are they paying anything for it? Just because you have squatted for a a period shouldn't mean you have any rights on the land.

Trying to go under the radar. Original lease holders have made money. Subbies who knows?

RO membrane only allows small molecules to pass. Hydrogen and oxygen are some of the smallest, even if combined. Heavy metals, lead, tin, etc... won't get passed. Only a few thousand baht. Worth the investment.

Air Asia and Nok Air have fly/ferry service to Samui via Surat Thani.
Was trying to find this on the NOK site recently. FYI, when you put in destination, many cities pop up, but look to the column to the right. It lists the ride / ferry cities.
Seek and ye shall find.

I use vinegar on my chrome taps and this works OK. But this is external. Not sure how to get it inside your heater and let it do it's work.

Import duty / VAT makes luxury items around 20% higher in China.

Buy a RO filter. Metals will be filtered out by RO membrane.

Russian honorary consul on Phuket confirmed receiving the FSB notification and has passed onto Gov and police, who confirm they are tightening security. So the report is confirmed, I assume the Thai spokesman means that they are trying to "verify" that the 10 people are in Thailand. Different kettle of fish.
Fairly detailed report, with numbers and locations, so seems credible. Actual report may have more detail, such as names and travel details that can be tracked.

30m tall durian tree came down recently. Termites and that big storm a couple months ago did the trick. Or bor tour came over on my neighbors request since his drive was partially blocked. They did get his drive clear, but I was hoping they would cut it up into smaller pieces.
I was wondering if anyone knew of how to get rid of this wood. Any charcoal factories in Phuket?

Move this to the Thailand Property forum where it will languish with the rest of the outdated advertorials.

THB 3,500/gram? I assumed this crap was inexpensive. Apparently not.

Quid pro quo. US tariffs on Thai goods, single digit percent. Going the other way, 20 - 40 percent.
Why not equal?

If this goes into fish meal for prawns, need to look here as well. Otherwise, boats get reregistered in Cambodia,
unregulated, so practice doesn't change and fish meal is sold back to LoS.

For the first few industries listed, that ship has sailed Somchai. CLMV countries have them covered. Semi-skilled industries, Malaysi / Indonesia / Phil have them covered. Sorry Thailand.

Their consulate has an office in Phuket in the complex diagonally opposite Tesco Lotos. I have a friend who did his visa there. I think it is called The Royal Place. You will need to check the hours they are open.

When I went over new year, got to the main gate at 6am. Paid my fee and guide walked with us to the pond in front of the temple to wait for the sun to rise.
Army investigates threat over Phuket gambling raid

Army investigating Army Col. calling Navy Col. to stop the raid. On the surface, seems like some favoritism might be in the offing.
