  1. Demonstrably untrue. I know a number of transgenders and they work in shops, bars, department stores and restaurants. They're generally seen as reliable. And you might want to rein-in the unnecessary trans slurs.
  2. Pensions are paid 4 weekly not monthly so the payment date can shift around a bit. That might be something to do with it.
  3. Changs are just gas bombs. I'd be farting for Thailand if I had seven. ????
  4. "When eaten in excess...." is the key as always. Just don't eat fried bacon or any other fried foods to excess. Just eat a healthy, balanced diet with the odd treat and you'll be fine. Same with alcohol. Drink in moderation.
  5. UbonJoe was not only knowledgeable and helpful but he did everything in good grace and with seemingly endless patience. He'll be sorely missed.
  6. I'm well aware of that, Enoon but that doesn't make it any easier to comprehend how people can be so vicious, whatever the culture. Oil of Vitriol was commonly used as a weapon of attack in Victorian London as you will know from your Sherlock Holmes.
  7. How dreadful. He faces a life of disfigurement and possibly blindness, all because of a bout of jealousy. I can't even comprehend what would make one human being do that to another.
  8. What you have to be careful of is vague language. Who determines what "reasonable precautions" are?
  9. True. If it's just fluid. If it's swelling they will have to remove part of the skull bone. They can then replace the bone, put a metal plate in or leave it, depending on circumstances.
  10. It looks like he's had swelling on the brain. They may have removed part of the skull to relieve the pressure. If so it will be a while before he can be safely transported. Poor chap. I feel for him whatever the circumstances.
  11. Years ago one of my work colleagues collapsed and died on the way to his retirement reception. It opened my eyes and I vowed to retire early, which I did at 49. I doubt whether I would have reached normal retirement age otherwise. I've never been the gregarious type so I enjoy the quiet life. Having a bucket list just introduces more stress so I don't have one. The only place I'd like to go to is Japan. As long as I have nice place to live I'm content.
  12. Yes, you're correct. It was a dreadfully sad day for bigots and homophobes. A marvellous day for the rest of humanity though. Love and kisses to you. ????
  13. If he'd been caught on a couple of years overstay at 76 I'd say treat him with kid gloves as he might be struggling. The problem is he started overstay at 65, so he must have been fully aware of what he was doing and was deliberately and knowingly breaking the law for 12 years. 65 is coincidentally the age that he would have been entitled to a U.K. State Pension, determined by his qualifying years so he probably had some cash. There might be some extenuating circumstances but I don't see why he wouldn't get an extension which he easily qualified for. There must be a reason why he wanted to stay under the radar.
  14. Well Moonlover , I can't vouch for where you are but here that's demonstrably untrue. Some people are wearing masks and some aren't, so it's obviously a personal choice. Even during Covid here not everyone wore a mask, it depended on circumstances. In shops or on songthaews fair enough. Outside, on your own perhaps not.
  15. What a strange take. With the advances in LGBT+ rights in the last ten years, including equal marriage, parent rights etc. no wonder Gen-Z ers are more comfortable in expressing their sexuality. I'm surprised it's not more. And there are always going to be one or two who incorrectly claim they're gay. But remember these are straight people. As a rule people don't queue up to be victimized.
  16. When you smile the eyes narrow, the cheeks rise and the mouth widens. One and two are still visible with a mask. If you're that worried about it get a smiley mask.
  17. Rubbish. You smile through your eyes as well as your mouth. I always get a smile back with a mask on. And how are you going to force people to get rid of all the masks? It's a personal choice.
  18. Saliva is anti-bacterial, so you should be o.k. unless they have rabies. ????
  19. Quite! Why is it anyone else's business. It's bizarre that it upsets people. Poor old Rooster.
  20. The bill could still be vetoed although that's looking unlikely now. Chillingly Musa Ecweru has stated that they will "....reinforce the law enforcement officers..." to deal with homosexuals, so it seems like it's going to be an all-out attack on the LGBT community. Why the Transport Minister has this brief is unclear.
  21. Many don't and some aren't Muslim. Last year Singapore repealed their gay sex prohibition. Some other counties may follow suit. That's the difference here.
  22. Uganda parliament passes bill criminalizing identifying as LGBTQ, imposes death penalty for some offenses https://edition.cnn.com/2023/03/21/africa/uganda-lgbtq-law-passes-intl/index.html
  23. Equality is not propaganda. Majorities are often against equality.
  24. Musa Ecweru has stated explicitly that he will make sure that "...there will be no space for homosexuals in Uganda."
