    As said there is only the one on Soi 5, Jomtien. There are specific desks in there, but you use an arrivals one to have your paperwork checked and get a ticket to move on to the correct one. Look up what copies and form are required, and they want to know the reason for needing a residence certificate, plus an original TM30 slip. THe main Bangkok Bank Branch on second Rd (opposite soi 6) used to be best, but these days things are not so easy,

    It is not less grating to me, and usually far louder. I was sat in immigration and this prick was sat on his with his engine running near the entrance (giving it a regular engine tickle), pure selfishness and more childish than any Thai 16 year old!

    You see some crazy stuff here.... last night I had to brake and swerve as there was some guy stood in the fast lane of Sukhumvit, just south of the Hwy 36 junction, he was waving another guy on the other side enticing him to cross to the central reservation! Guessed a couple of drunk guys heading homeward. Often see a disabled guy trying to cross Hwy 36 at night, to get to Nong Khet Noi market too.

    Not about danger per se, more about being an entitled scofflaw. In your world he would have to hit a few people before his actions are punished, in mine I would like to pre-empt that happening. Deportation would usually come with a criminal prosecution, but I agree drunk driving should be included too.

    I was thinking this as I sat in immigration only the other day (although the place has got much more efficient).... they do make it difficult, a trip to immigration for me is about 14-15 km and I don't enjoy the drive. Forcing me to do that for a trivial 90 day report and the TM 30 nonsense and palaver of the extension each year. Gets harder every time....

    Yeah, I sort of go there purely because it is the most convenient to get to and park in...... coming from North of town, plus I can do the trip both ways with zero or only 1 set of traffic lights!. Pretty good Mall and Big-CX has a lot of variety. Not sure how long the ceiling will hold up though, or whether it will be closed for a while to get it fixed.

    I suspect some conditions come along with getting a Permission of Stay, or an extension of it, surely behaving oneself is one of those and respecting the local laws. Break those terms and the 'visa' can be revoked. The deflection to the locals is not relevant, we have enough scofflaws in the country!

    Too cheap to even put on the AC.......a stand fan usually helps.

    In my early days in Thailand, helmet wearing was actually more common. Certainly on the highway roads and in town. But then there were also police at major junctions pulling people over who didn't. Last 3 or 4 years, lack of policing has led to lack of obeyance.

    She was pillion of course in this case. But more often than not, you will see 2 or 3 girls on a bike, a 13 year old driving, and no helmets. Was thinking this as I was at the 7-11 at school chucking out time just the other day. So sad.
